Absolutely! Maybe I'm still in the honeymoon period but i already know i have made the correct choice. It isn't perfect but it does everything i want of it, and it's a fun/rewarding driving to boot.

Yep. 600 miles in and I'm very much enjoying it! Silky smooth, refined, fast, comfortable and spacious.

Just about done enough running in miles now to start really enjoying the performance!

Capital and Kiss when not listening to radio 2. Eclectic I know. Yep had the car a couple of weeks and loving all the toys and the way it drives.

The economy is good, the performance is fine, the DSG a revelation!

It's the little handy features that make it good.

- the phone holder.

- the hooks on the boot.

- the traffic button.

- The sunglasses holder.

- the take your phone message.

- the moveable arm rest.

- the bottle holders in the doors. Handy for storing used coffee cups.

MrCellotape, try Release FM 92.8 chilled ole sckool garage pre drum'n'bass just a feel of youth without the crassness, guess its whatever floats ya boat.

The car's 99% good, torsion beam rear suspension protests a little too often and beware, that paint is soft but otherwise, very capable.

Will try that later... Thanks.

Enjoying most things on the Mk3 after the first 2 weeks.

Plus points

   DAB radio

   Maxidot

   Sat Nav

   Heated front screen

   Heated front seats

   Bluetooth for the phone

   Controls on the steering wheel

   Folding mirrors

   DRL's

   Auto lights

   D, S & eco options for DSG

USB socket for phone charging or music

Minus points compared to the Mk2

   50 litre fuel tank (Mk2 was 55)

No foot rest to the right of the accelerator pedal. I've yet to find a comfortable position for my right foot when using cruise.

I am indeed enjoying my MK3 very much there is a lot to like its not perfect but what is but it does most thing very well very happy with it over all

I am indeed, over a year and bits worth of driving and now on 31k miles in my VRS TSI DSG hatch.

325+ bhp & 368flbt makes for effortless driving and yet I can still achieve over 40mpg (in fact recent trip from Bournemouth to Bridport achieved 45mpg), fit five inside in comfort and have a boot that still shames most estate cars the next class up!

No rattles or creaks and no problems to report, solid dependable car.

It is true that most will only comment about the negatives/problems as they are looking for a resolve, just think where the BBC News desk would be if everything in the world always went well! Good news is often deemed boring, bad news not.

I for one take my hat off to Skoda as they really have, in my humble opinion, made a car for every occasion where my VRS is concerned - well happy!

Valid point Telboy5, good news rarely makes the headlines hence the thread I thought should be started. :)

I also accept isn't perfect but is still much better than many I have owned...a very capable vehicle that's enjoyable to drive.

Totally agree, it's not perfect but damned close in comparison to all prior motors I've owned too  :D

Nice to read this - waiting on my VRS Estate to arrive a week to go now, was worrying a bit seeing some of the negative posts the last few weeks!

Only had mine a month and just love it. Goes like stink, yet is super quiet when cruising on the motorway. This is one of the most refined diesel engines I have ever heard (2.0L CR VRS)

I also love the look of it, inside and out.

My mk2 L&K was the best car I'd owned.Had that model 4 years.

Now the best car is my mk3 Vrs tsi dsg. Wish I had more time to drive it. 9000 miles in 1 year.

I got mine in december 2013. Have done 45000 km (don't know how many miles that is) and I am still very satisfyed. Looking forward to get my 18" on now. It looks a little sharper that way ;)

I may personally been a bit proactive in terms of expressing my utter disappointment with both car and brand and i was just in doing so, after all this was no company car scheme purchase.

Besides all the grief which has more or less passed by the car is driving well, loaded or unloaded. The engine is strong even though my dealer representative said it's not quick like a vrs (my reply was who gives a S###) the torque is good the Dsg is clever enough and I see a glimmer of hope the mpg is improving. It suits my family needs easily and i now enjoy the fact it's pacific blue and indeed rare around my parts. There are problems with these cars but tbh nothing is perfect.

All in all its a good enough car and very comfortable to drive. I really like the bright roof lining as it's really keeps the interior light and airy.

Did about 14.000 UK miles (converted from kilometers) in 5 months and yes, loving it.

It's a lot better with the summer tires because it really bites into corners if need be, but still cruises comfortably at high speeds when doing a relaxed day out with the family.

The sheer volume of the boot really helps, I just throw anything in there we think we need that day without ever having to worry about having to leave something out.

My vrs tsi dsg is a world away better than my mk5 golf edn 30 dsg, and that was a low mileage , high spec, well maintained car but noisy oil consuming tfsi engine, smoked black smoke on hard acceleration to the tsi dsg octy which is more eager, smoother and damn sight quieter. No more mdi not changing the track name on the next song.

Badge kudos? My vrs gets a lot more looks.

The octy isn't perfect as said. But it wants for very little imo. I even find myself admiring it in the carpark at night with the drls and xenons on. (My edn30 had xenons too) the only thing i would change is the seat bolsters as they don't seem to hold you in the seat as much as the golf seats did. A small price to pay. Go czech! :-)

V good car, so far has proven to be very competent and not at all problematic....has eaten up 22k miles in 13 months and the only costs so far are a set of front wiper blades and a set of front tyres.

Its an excellent motorway car, nice if not at all fun to drive, manual gearchange is lovely though (so much so Im now glad i didnt go DSG again) and the 150 TDI motor is excellent and IMHO matches my old mk2 vRS TDI for straight line go.

Would I buy another.....perhaps if I was offered a striking deal on a reasonably well spec'd vRS TDI estate but otherwise no...I would not buy another Elegance with my own money. Not that its in any way a bad car, its just its a car for a purpose and not something I really get any satisfaction from owning or driving from a petrolhead angle. In certain respects though that is a positive as a daily drive; Id probably be happy with it if I had a fun hot hatch/sports car as a 2nd car.

To me the AWD is a revelation. I thought it was hard to pass on the VRS addictive effect (I had a MkII VRS TDI), but the AWD traction is really a joy, both on wet and on dry, smooth roads.

The elegance trim is a bit understatement, but perhaps is more suited to my increasing... ahem, maturity :D

Of course I fear I couldn't resist to a VRS AWD... (the Leon ST FR 184 with AWD is a serious attempt to the Skoda, TBH).

Mence, good one mate.

I am also loving mine, more than 15 months already. The car handles, rides and goes like a dream so I cant think of any other car that I would be willing to switch a the moment. Not even close.

I went for a non-standard tyre size 215/50/17, as I tested 225/45 and didn't like the ride. Now it is more stable than with the ''16s, slightly higher and rides just as smooth with the multilink :sun:

I've had my Mk3 Vrs TSI hatch for the grand total of 3 days now after coming from a Mk1 VRS, so not really in a position to give a large overall opinion.

I did 400 miles in the first 24 hours and pretty much had the car loaded to the top, boot full of motor sport paraphernalia (ramps, impact guns, tool boxes etc), even our overnight bags were on the back seat.

I can honestly say it has exceeded my expectations, quiet, reasonably quick (I haven't gone over 3000rpm yet, running in), very spacious, precise gear change (manual), beautiful light clutch, and all the toys I could want (just haven't got around to playing with them yet).

Very very happy.

Yep, I'll jump on this band wagon :)

1 year and 16,000 miles in, I am still loving mine. Love the way it looks, goes, stops and doesn't like to drink too much :D

I'd only be repeating the others if I said any more!
