Interior ambient lighting (CatVision)

Featured Replies

Does anyone have this feature fitted? If so, could you post a photo of what it actually includes and looks like please?

No info on skoda website besides a listed option in the brochure.

Thanks!

I found this:

A Skoda innovation is CatVision, activated in conjunction with the dashboard and interior lighting system. When the exterior lights are switched on, CatVision gently illuminates the interior of the car, working through two LED diodes in the courtesy lights, and around the door handles. At night it's great at creating a soothing ambiance in which everything is still clearly visible.

It's is a soft light which illuminates the area around the gear lever. A bit difficult to get a good picture of, as it appears much brighter in the pics than it actually is.

Our Yeti and Superb have it. As Manlms says it just provides a nice gentle glow to the car interior at night - I really like it.

Standard on the vRS, pretty nice feature.

Is it really an option in the UK or is it standard? (It's not exactly a new feature, even our 2004 Astra used to have it.)

Standard in the vrs, can't say about other models

Snet with speeling mistkaes from my phoen

The door handle LEDS are pants and pointless imo. The gearlever 'submarine lighting' as i refer to it is very good. An interior ambient lighting pack option like mercs and the audi A8 would have been awesome.

What do those options entail?

It's in my SE.

What do those options entail?

Changeable 'mood' lighting in various door pockets, around the bose speakers and headlining. Dimmable etc, very nice

Its nothing new really.

Wifes old Astra H Design has indirect night lighting....orange LED in the base of the auto dip mirror..

Whats quite nice about it is that it can come on independent from the headlights so if the car thinks its dark enough outside to warrant switching it on but not the headlights it does so.

Also it has front door handle illiination too.

In some repects the car is a bit cack and at times has given us some trouble (a Vauxhall thing I guess...and it is now nearly 8 years old) but some quite clever touches for an older car.

What is odd with the Catvision is that the Elegance doesnt get the door handle illimination like the vRS does, never quite understood why.

Should my vrs have this ?

Yes.

I'll need to pay more attention in the morning then

Seems to be another UK option limitation, like the footwell lights. Finnish Elegance models have both footwell lights and door handle lights, and I recently noticed there are even lights in the phone box. (The brightness is adjustable by the infotainment.)
