Rear Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

Morning everyone

I own a 2013 rapid elegance and i would like to know if rear parking sensors are fitted as standard to the elegance model.

Many thanks

Nunky

Yes, they are.

Thank you Chris

Have you got three 1cm circle sensors on the rear bumper?

If not, it's possibly a very early car.  The specs at launch were a bit mean, no fogs on the SE for instance.

I've seen a few elegance advert pictures (62/13 plates) that don't appear to have sensors & they are not mentioned in the specs in those ads either.

I will check however I seem to have everything else on the car that comes with the elegance specification

Surely you would have seen by now if you had reversing sensors? They are pretty visible in the rear bumper, not to mention the beeping sound when reversing.

I had them fitted by Skoda garage but they fitted aftermarket ones! I believe the originals also interacted with the Swing radio and showed the sensors info  as well as Beep??

Def need to park the big Ass beast ;<)

Totally agree, parking sensors are a must-have these days.

I really love the reversing sensors , never thought I would but you can't see much out the back .   Mine interferes with the radio and displays a graphic of how close you are to any obstructions .

Yes - factory fit reversing sensors also provide the visual radar display via the radio screen. I find that more helpful than the beeps. Aftermarket and dealer fitted ones don't provide this.

Sent from my iPhone 5S using Tapatalk, please excuse any typos.

It's ok I asked the original question because I am in dispute with the dealership who I bought the car from.

Do tell us the full story - many of us have had disputes with dealers and Skoda UK (some are still in mid-dispute), we might be able to help.

There are a number of issues with the car that are yet to be resolved with skoda however I have obtained the original sales documents and they will either be resolved by skoda or legally

So what's wrong with the car?

Latest one is

Intermittent fault light will come up on the dash such as blown lamp, check for the fault and there isn't one, once you restart the car the fault light on the dash disappears.anyone else had this.

I have had more faults on this car in 6 months than my old car which I owned for 6 years, quite disconcerting really

Did you find your rear sensors?

If not then the tell tale signs are, it bleeps when you go backwards. :notme:

Hmm.  Having trawled autotrader, looking at 2013 elegance, some seem not to have park assist, therefore the answer to the OP question is quite possibly - no.

I had the same problem in mine after the first two months of ownership. Mine didn't even show as a fault in the Skoda workshop diagnostic program, despite the fault light being on.

Anyway it is a known bug that affects a small percentage of Rapids and if I correctly recall it, was finally solved by a minor software update.

No didn't find them as they are not fitted however the car was advertised as having rear parking sensors so hopefully it will be resolved at the end of the month, however thanks for insightful comments

Don't you love lazy administrators who cut and paste stuff without checking.  I thought that most garages put some small print in somewhere to the effect of

"specifications are a guide and may not exactly match the supplied vehicle".

You'll be getting some freebies now then
