VCDS Lite

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I used VCDS Lite with an eBay cable to retrofit OEM xenon headlights to my 2006 Audi A4 B7 with no problems. However, I plugged it in to my 2014 FL Superb & it doesn't want to read any modules.

I tried v12 VCDS but it's not happy with my cable. I'd like to fit after-market xenons to my car, so I'm assuming I'd need to tell the car it should be powering up the xenons in the same way? Alternatively, would I be better off using resistors for this?

I've found some info on here for the Octavia, but my main problem is that VCDS Lite doesn't acknowledge any modules.

Before anyone comments, I know there have been numerous threads about the legality of after-market HIDs, but my car has projector housings so they would function in exactly the same way as my Audi headlights, which did not have auto-levelling or adaptive beam direction functionality as I used a cable from Kufatec to fit them, which didn't require the other modules.

Thanks,

Matt.

Your cheap ebay cable does not support Canbus diagnostics only K-Line, you'll need a new cable that supports CAN diagnostics.

Discussions of cheap ebay fakes is not allowed, so please do not post any links to such cables as they will be removed. The only legal source of the HEX-CAN Rosstech cables are the official UK distributors (Gendan etc.) or Rosstech themselves.

It's also highly likely that with the car being a 2014 model you'll need the latest version of VCDS, V10, 11, 12 etc. will be just too old to have all the long coding for the newer controllers.

Depends on what you mean by 'perfectly’

Your software is (at least) a year older than the car, so if the cars software has moved on since 2012 (highly likely) then other changes may well have become ‘unlocked’ with the newer software.

My VCDS has May 2014 database, while my Superb is produced also in May 2014. So I don`t see a problem here.

I can't see the list of members with VCDS as I apparently don't have permission. If there's anyone in North London that could help me out, please let me know.
