Help car won't start ATD 100 BHP TDI

Featured Replies

HI GUYS.

Driving up A1 from Stanstead to Barnsley yesterday engine would shudder if throttle pushed quickly also poor acceleration like no turbo.  Pulled into fuel station and in neutral engine was happy to rev to 4.5krpm (no load).

So today checked if VNT accutater was free, it was (dont know if it works in normal operation though.)

Took MAF senor off air filter body sprayed it with switch cleaner assembled everything and tried starting and the engine was jumping and shuddering all over the place next to no throttle response misfiring very badly possibly only two cylinders, after cranking, it would run for a second or two on 2 pots and then die.

The wiring on this car has alway been problematic ABS TCS SPEEDO BATTERY LIGHT dont work.  I have a S/H loom to fit but I dont want to waste 3 days fitting if cars starting issues are terminal (injectors eg).

Another point to note is yesterday I noticed the outside temperature on the multifunction display was stuck on 4c*

Any tips GREATLY APPRECIATED

Thanks

I have same engine. Once you sprayed maf sensor did you let it dry completely?all connections secure. Like suggested get a scanner on it.
