Miltek Avec Sports Cat. Gains?

Featured Replies

ok, going to sound silly as i'm getting this done to my RS, but can anyone tell me what the bhp/torque gains should be with the full miltek and sports cat?

have seen a thread on here claiming up to 30lb/ft which seems an awful lot but don't recall seeing anything else.

ta in advance:)

Hi Huck

Don't know the figures but you will notice the diff. in torque low down, pulls a lot better etc.

PS. 30ft/lb nah.

Des

Figures from this very Forum

Mark (Panrix) Jabba'd with standard exhaust 232.8 BHP

Dave (Skodaw) Jabba'd with Milltek & Cat 236.1 Bhp

Is it worth the cash for 3.3 Horses ?

thanks guys:)

i very much doubted the 30lb/ft as claimed. just wanted to know if there were figures that people could put to it.

as des has said, there will be a difference that is noticeable, that's why i'm getting it done. also not going the jabba route, so my car remapped could be putting out very different figures anyway. as i understand it, some of you have jabba with 1.1 bar whereas the APR as i recall runs at 1.0bar.

could be wrong.

thanks for the replies!

That's not really a valid comparison, Geoff. The cars are unlikely to have been delivering exactly the same power before remapping, and the remaps will have been individually tailored to the cars and their owners requirements.

Does anyone know what performance gains Milltek claims for their exhausts?

Thinks: I asked for a conservative remap with plenty of mid range torque for overtaking. I didn't discuss boost pressure and haven't a clue what the max boost pressure will have been set to. Must talk to Mike at Jabba and/or take a drive up there...

Horses for courses, you pay your money and take your choice and other cliches...

From what i saw at the weekend, Jabba and APR both do damn good work :)

Milltek gives an example of the gains for the high flow sports cat here. In the example quoted, power output for an S3 fitted with a high flow sports cat is up from 212.3 bhp @ 5646 rpm to 261.4 bhp @ 5454. thinks.gif

i *think* that may be a bit of cheeky subterfuge.

it's possible that they're referring to the remapped car.

I have the full system on mine and I can vouch for the definite increased torque at bottom and middle of the range as the turbo spins up much quicker.

As far as figures go I had mine rolling roaded recently but on a different device to orginally and at higher temp. conditions to the before figures but did get 26lbf.ft increase. That is close to the 30 lbf.ft that Tavia got at Power Engineering's R/Road. (I also had the ABD cold air intake installed that adds a small amount of toruqe on the road (Des did some VAGCom measurements), but not so in a r/road cell with static 29 deg C hot air when it was tested. )

The biggest difference should be from 5500 to 7000 rpm with maybe 15 hp maximun difference,

but it could still be only 5hp at the peak hp rpm.

Faster spool up and better sound are other benifits you should include in the equation.

Mine doesn't want to rev beyond 5500 as its peak power is around there. That is until I get it Jabba'd as their peak power seems at higher revs than Superchips.

Huck

I don't know what sort of torque increase -- but I seam to remember that my car showed a pre-map bhp of around the 190 mark -- but as has been said -- there is quite a noticeable difference in the way that the car picks up i.e picks up quicker, more smoothly and will rev right out to the limiter without any trouble what so ever -- I fitted my Milltek & Cat 10 days before being Jabba'd -- and was quite suprised by how different the car felt!

**Hope you are feeling better by the way!
