Took my car in for 2nd service today only to get a phone call from the service department to say that the tailgate support strut collapsed on them during the service and when ordering a replacement strut found that there was a recall on these struts, is anybody else aware of this recall?

Not aware....is that on the hydraulic 'auto' open and close strut or the non powered item?

I have to amend this as apparently its not a recall but an advisory notice for dealers to check any electric boot struts, my strut actually collapsed and broke off at the tailgate end, if either myself or my wife had been in the boot when it happened we could have been seriously hurt when it fell down. Both struts are being replaced under warranty.

Terry - forgot to ask - is Yours a TwinDoor or the estate model?
