The kick in the 182/172 is it coming "On the Cam" If anyone here has driven a MK2 Golf GTI 16V they will know the feeling of it kicking in at 4.5K and screaming all the way to 7K!!! That deffo did not have VVT

And whoever said the Furby is Poo off the line is talking cack! From drag racing one I know it can beat most things off the line, it just runs out of puff at the top end!

As most people have stated, in the real world there is not a lot in it, I have had the red mist with a couple of 182/172's and I can easily pull 3-4 car lengths on them at 70mph! But once the Clio driver has dropped it a cog he/she starts to reel me in, slow down for traffic and let battle commence again Again pull 3-4 car lengths on it and get reeled in once more! Once you get close to "5hit I'm gonna get a ban for this" speed the clio will eat my furby!!!

I do miss petrol power though, but thats what I have my Corrado for, there's just summat about burrying that red needle into the 8K zone that is deeply satifying

My 8v seems to do that also - hit 3500 rpm and there is a definite surge in power at that point to about 5500 rpm.

Theres nothing that special about the Clio engine, just a high revving, large power 2.0 engine.

What types of clio are there?

The twin tail pipe one is either the 172 or 182 - is that right? But then there are some which have just 2.0 sport written on them with no fancy tail pipes -what are they?

there are 172 k2 phase 1 the jelly mould ones in red yellow 2 silvers and black and green

mk2 phase 2 172's the nicer looking ones in red black blue and silver hidden exhaust

mk2 phase 2 172 cup in mondial blue hidden exhaust no abs or leather or toys with tourini alloys and small cup badge on it

mk2 phase 2 182 2 exhausts silver wheels leather xenons etc

mk2 phase 2 182 with cup packs 2 exhausts anthracite wheels and different spoiler with all the bits leather etc etc

mk2 phase 2 182 cup 2 exhausts with the anthracite wheels and bigger spoiler but no leather but abs

mk2 phase 2 182 trophey same as 182 cup but with ohlins dampers recaro seats, orange (inferno) paint anthracite tourini wheels and stickers on the sills saying trophy

Clio 182 is a good, fast car; Fab vRS is a good, fast car; Octy vRS is a good, fast car.

If you don't like one or all of them, don't buy them

Without being funny,how do Renault shift so many clios and why did so many people buy peugot 206's.
