Wanted to get some seat time in the cars today, so ducked out of going to a day at Bedford (101db) and went to Brands Hatch (105db).

 

 

 

Both cars passed the sound limit fine, running around 102db.

But the drive by limit, with it being a public track day, was a real issue.

 

Fiesta and Elan both way over the drive by limit on induction noise so unfortunately not a lot of seat time done today.

Going to have to limit future seat time to test days where they don't have a drive by limit.

 

Got about 15 laps in the Fiesta and 5 in the Elan.

Not enough to really get to grips with either so off to the Test day at Snetterton on Thursday...

yes, drive something else.

 

General testing isn't too bad.  About £80-£100 per day more than a track day but far less cars on track and no overtaking rules...

In fact, having looked there is a test day at Brands Hatch mid April which is only about £20 or so more than a normal track day.  Closed wheel only so open pit lane.  Perfect!

Thursday 21st April.

One of the few when it's not sessioned to keep open and closed wheel cars apart.

So being closed wheel only it's open pit lane.

£235 for the whole day.

Considering I have helped Damo out a couple of times now this is the first time that I have noticed and read through this thread. Was gutted for you pal when the car broke at Donnington at the weekend, it was roughly 3min 25sec into your video where I suddenly shouted "**** he is here early' when I had spotted that you had pulled up outside the garage roughly 20mins before you was due for your fuel and driver stop,

 

We will have the car back together soon ready for your next event towards the end of April.

 

Unfortunately despite the valiant efforts of the crew my first race of the season ended with a DNF

We're still awaiting the diagnostics but it looks like the diff didn't want to be a diff no more [emoji22]

Still, great weekend had by all and onwards and upwards [emoji106]

Quick one on paint scheme: Why the back boot when everything else is stickered (?) or bright blue? Looks a bit out of place imo, too sensible :-)
