Online Brokers ?

Featured Replies

Who are reputable and good online brokers ?

I like the way Carwow works, but they don't do BMW, so I need to look elsewhere. Has any one seen a deal through with any brokers, and if so what were your experiences ?

Bmw are on broadspeed and I think autoebid. Which I'm currently trying so will let you know if it works out.

I'm doing thus just now too. I'm looking at the mondeo 180 diesel titanium x hatch. They say they can get me one for about £23'500 when the list price with the extras I want is nearly 30k, I'm just a bit dubious if this true. I would have normaly gone for the mk3 octy vrs, but there just seems to be to many faults a negatives in the mk3 forum.

Thanks M12MKD.

I think its do-able meta55b, Carwow were getting a 30k Mondeo to 25k when I was looking, and I was surprised they didn't seem to be getting lower as there were better discounts on other makes.

Out of interest what concerns do you have on the Octy ? mine has been near faultless and a lovely car, I may have even gone for another (wanting to change to auto as left leg has been giving me grief), but BMW have some tempting incentives right now !

My only comment would be when it actually comes to an order. So far both drivethedeal and carwow have been unable to fulfill my order. Just waiting for autoebid they have 5 days to come back.

Thanks M12MKD.

Hi mr grump. The concerns that spring to mind are, water still coming inside the car, booming noise, loud road noise and the extortionate price. I put a quote request in late last night with drive the deal, got a phone call early afternoon. For a mondeo titanium x hatch 180 diesel, with 3k worth of extras was about 25k. When I compare this to the octy its a no brainer. I'm not fixed on the ford, it's just the first car i could say I really liked.

As I've said many times and been flamed for it the mk3 Octavia is not a cheap car

Even the cheapest Skodas in the UK are no longer cheap,

they only have some rather cheap and nasty components fitted to remind you it is not a Volkswagen.

Skoda need to up the game and maybe the new Superb can do that.

Better Quality Control from the factory will mean the Fitter / Tech called Tommy that does the PDI

& the Warranty Managers has an even easier job.

the cost of the MKIII fabia and the fact I did not think it was good value for money this time was why I moved away from skoda when I changed my car earlier this year

had toys / gimmick (mirror link etc) that would not work with my phone and lacking basics I wanted like cruise etc

^^^^As above, I waited for the prices of the new Fabia and was instantly turned off the idea when I priced one up.

To answer the OP, I purchased my Citigo (now sold) through Carfile.net. It was a good deal at the time and everything went smoothly but I didn't go that route when buying the Toledo.

No one could even get close to the price I paid for my pre reg (new but a few months old) Toledo. The new models were weighing in at around £16.5k, when got mine last year for £11.5k and would buy a pre reg again for the savings over brand spanking new factory order. I intend to keep this one for a number of years.

Bmw are on broadspeed and I think autoebid.

If you want a stress free experience then steer WELL CLEAR of Broadspeed!

If you want a stress free experience then steer WELL CLEAR of Broadspeed!

You can't leave it like that Martin - dot the i's and cross the t's! ;-)

Lets just say the car arrived at the supplying dealers nearly a whole month before I collected it (despite paying for it to be delivered) several ‘delivery attempts’ were apparently made by Broadspeed (despite the cars mileage saying otherwise!)

In the end I drove a 560 mile round trip to collect the car as they were so incompetent it doesn’t bear thinking about, it took the shine off the whole new car experience for me.

I ordered the Yeti through Carwow (and it was supplied by Allams) this restored my faith as it was a really pleasant experience, to the point that we will probably use them for servicing despite having at least 6 Škoda dealers who are closer then Epsom.

TBH that's why I like the idea of carwow, you deal with the dealer from start to finish.

@ meta55b, I can say I have not experienced water issues, a very minor amount of the booming, that was so infrequent (very particular surface at particular speeds) I didn't bother with it for a year, I eventually adjusted the hatch stops and its non existant now.

I don't have a thing against Fords, but I would take a Skoda over one for the same price and similar spec, however we all have our preferences :)

Certainly Skoda are not the bargains they were a while back, that's for sure ;)

Don't get wrong, I like my octy and haven't even set foot in a mk3 yet. I just all the negatives in the mk3 forum from current owners. Yes I know you will here about the bad first, it's just that some of the faults are still there from the mk2. And the fact I've been offered a 30k rrp including options for less than the starting price of a octy vrs. Skoda really need to look at the prices.

Indeed, certainly worth going to check one out and test driving.

FWIW I specced up a vRS for comparison for interest on carwow, as I considered just getting another with DSG.

With extras it was 29.5k, cash best price was 25.8, finance much less discount, but I believe finance is 0% on PCP.

Forget autoebid. Complete waste of time as they cannot help if you want it on finance. Despite offering that as part of the service.

I've decided not to bother buying a new car now as all I've done is waste 3 months of my time trying to actually buy a product.

Carwow also let me down and drivethedeal no longer do the vehicle I'm interested in
