Heated screen

Featured Replies

Just configured a petrol SE Octavia for a friend and allows you to add a heated windscreen but the online brochure says not available only available on petrol vrs just wondered if anybody had ordered a heated screen on a petrol Octavia?

Is there not something on here about this, think it was along the lines that the petrol's didn't have a big enough alternator. So the petrol vrs had uprated alternators fitted.

My 14 plate 1.6 cr DSG Elegance combi has the winter pack fitted, which has heated front screen, heated front seats and heated washer nozzles.

Yes the winter pack with heated screen is available on the diesel but the configurater says you can add it to a 1.2 ltr petrol but the online brochure says you cannot

I have every heated option available(Webasto, nozzels, front and rear screen, Mirrors, front and rear seats) on my 1.8 tsi. And as far as I know, its available with every engine here, perhaps not on the 1.2tsi, but all the others.

Got the heated screen on my TSI vRS. It's fantastic!

I went to add heated screen, but the dealer told me you can't spec it in its own, only as part of the winter pack for an extra £600. No thanks

The heated seats are worth it according to the wife

It was part of the winter pack when I ordered Nov 14 but it was no where near £600!! Sure it was only about £200. Heated leather seats are soooo worth it!

Its somewhere near as its heated screen seats and washers

I paid around £700 for the Norwegian winterpack (heated windscreen/nozzels, back seats and Webasto).

Front Seats are heated on all models here.

Winter pack on mine was £450

tried to order it 2 weeks ago on a 1.4 tsi and was told it's only available on the diesels

Skoda UK strikes again?

I would probably have ordered the heated screen if it was available on its own with the petrol engines. But there's no way I would pay an extra £250 for heated seats I don't want. I will miss it from my Focus.

This is just one more reason why I'm looking at the new mondeo to replace my ocy. Skoda just keep loading both barrels and pulling both triggers.

I don't remember encountering a car without heated front seats here in Finland. (I've heard that some American imports can be specced without them, but pretty much every other car has them as standard.)

Same here. All regular cars have the, unless its a an import. Its not unusual to import used cars from germany.

In England winter night time temperatures rarely drop below -5 degC. I don't need heated seats at those sort of temperatures, but a heated windscreen might be useful.

Apparently one of the reasons for not offering it on petrol models is that the modern TSI engines warm up faster thanks to their fancy cooling systems. Can anyone here say how long it actually takes to start getting warm air through the ventilation system? Though even when the blown air does warm up it is unlikely to be as effective as the electric screen heater.

The only petrol model in the uk that you can spec the heated screen is the Tsi vrs from what I remember.

Its weird that available spec varies so much. Is this common among other brands aswell?

OT: Dacia Sandero base model. Heated front seats are in the Ambiance version.

We only get the Duster in Norway. And it has heated seats.

In Scotland it often drops below - 5 (minus 19 was the coldest I've seen here in the last few years) but to be honest the tsi engines do heat up in a few minutes and other than on leather seats I have never seen the need for heated seats. On leather though they are so cold you definitely need them. Since the SEL has alcantara I have decided to save the cash this time around.

I'm simply looking forwards to heated seats as a bit of a luxury toy really, also to keep the wife defrosted when the aircon is set at a sensible temperature.

Heated screen on the other hand, I still miss the one on my Focus from a decade ago.
