Oil Temperature on MaxiDOT?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

been driving around my RS TSI for the past few weeks and still giggle like a little kid whenever the garage door opens. :)

As I dive deeper into the options, one thing I found a lack of is the oil temperature display in MaxiDOT (colour MaxiDOT + Columbus). Apparently, it should be there, but I can't find it anywhere in "Driving Data".

Is it something that I am supposed to enable? I read a few posts in the Yeti forums about the display missing - but couldn't find anything about the Octavia.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

You have to go to Car --> ssettings on the Columbus. Somewhere in that menu you can configure what will show on the maxidot.

It's in the options on the Columbus if it's like the bolero. It's under car then setup then another one but for the life of me I can't remember what it is

CAR >> Setup >> Mulifunction Display. Then make sure oil temp is 'ticked'

Ah, I remember the old times on the MkII, where you had to know the sequence of commands on the climate control to show the oil temperature... it's so easier on the MFD :)

Thank you all! You were correct - seems I haven't made it to the MFD setup. :)

So much time on your hands Stu, you da man.

Personally, I think I'd have given it back to the PDI Mech. and asked him to do his job properly but, glad it sorted for yo.

Don't think checking wether the oil temp display is shown on the Maxi Dot is part of the PDI check.

Maybe looking in the Handbook, which is part of the PDI check, to make sure the car has one, would have been another option,     :bandit:

Hi All, once warmed up, my 2.0 TDi runs at around 93 deg C, is this what other people are getting?

It was Monday of half term. Both cars have been cleaned and polished, garden sorted and garage cleaned out. It was answer problems on here or have to take my turn to babysit (or be a parent as SWMBO refers to it).

No - your throttle must be broken (however, I can't see what ps your 2.0 TDI is).

In all seriousness your temp is fine.

Mine runs 100 - 110 deg C most of the time in UK, but 120 - 130 deg C on autobahn - 110 mph plus. The VAG spec oil does not start to deteriorate until 150+ deg C from memory. I think in the users manual it quotes 120 deg C as high oil temp and time to ease off the gas.

Don't do it Stu, its a trap, I'm telling ya LOL

Seriously, I've got mine all day tomorrow, planned loada poo to do, now she's poorly, there goes my plan of looking at MILf's all day in the park !
