The most recent developments DTW (diesel tuning workshops), right here in cornwall would you believe are amazing!! Although a very new company the development is wild. Apparantly car tuning isnt exactly rocket science!! Whats hot at the mo is the master modulator (plug in between the ECU and its harness if that makes sense to you...). The modulator is effectively like a chip, it carries a lead to be fixed to your dash with a BHP dial adjust. 20-30% power gain in an instant!! Well this will be it for me, wont get anymore out of the old fabia. OK as it goes I suppose time to sell it and buy a reliable car....

I'd be happier spending more money and mileage on a 50% power increase courtesy of Jabba - less of an unknown quantity - even if Cornwall is a lot closer to me.

Sounds like a tuning box to me. Just ends up squirting more fuel into the engine and therefore more smoke. Could be wrong - is there a web site??

Seeing the black stuff Matt's car was pumping out, put me off a tuning box for good, even if it does increase power over the remap - The mpg seemed to be suffering badly too compared to what I was getting around Wales - almost 8 to 10 mpg worse. :( (but more factor I guess)

there are good tuning boxes out there. i suffered no economy issues whatsoever with my leon tdi although there was a *little* extra black smoke on wide open throttle, noticeable only at night. some do adjust for too much fuelling hence shedloads of black smoke.

i've seen tuning boxes used very happily indeed from owners of VAG cars to 330d owners. if going for a diesel again which couldn't be serially remapped, a tuning box would be, without doubt, my first port of call.

I am not sure what is amazing about this product - just another tuning box with a remote adjustment screw, called a "bhp dial adjust"

In my opinion, you can't beat a decent re-map! (by Jabba).

Incidentally, anyone want to buy a TDi tuning box!! - still for sale and it has a bhp adjust dial - a small screw in the side of the box!

Really ought to disconnect that tuning box! Although it does something rather strange to the torque curve and makes me grin uncontrolably.
