Changed a fair few compressors on cars serviced at the likes of Halfords and Kwik Fit where they have been over oiled.

Compressor failure is common place on the Golf (Octavia too), the Delphi ones are awful. If they crap themselves internally it's a new compressor, condenser and a full flush of the system.

The Sanden unit was the only option. The only Sanden units I saw fail was when the system hadn't been flushed properly or the correct oiling sequence and running in procedure hadn't been followed.
