I was lucky enough to experience that engine tuned to 542bhp in the passenger seat of P22 OXJ which you may work out was a 1996 XJ220 capable of 217mph around the Nardo high speed bowl in Italy but my 3 laps were at Bruntingthorpe runway at 305kph or about 190mph (it was a LHD version). Still the fastest I have been in a car and it was as fast as a Suzuki Hayabusa that was lapping that day on the straight. Not the most refined V6 ever designed but very effective. 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds and 0-100mph in 7.1 seconds. When launched it was the fastest production car in the world but in 1993 the 240mph McLaren F1 would take its crown.

Can't make my mind up which this looks like more.... AC Cobra, BMW Z1, Marcos Mantra, Jag F Type, Caterham.  Lot's going on but a lovely looking car IMO.

A 6R4 came up at auction recently.  It had <10 miles on the clock and had been well stored/a museum car since leaving the factory and yet it was still apparently full of rust!

The Golden Wonder 6R4 was owned and driven by Ken Wood in the Scottish Rally championship back in the 1980's. The original registration number was 261 GWC (for Golden Wonder Crisps) Don't know if this is the same car.

 

Not sure Ken, might be worth asking the current owner.

It's very aggressive which appeals to BMW owners but the wheel arch extensions are very crude on what will be a very expensive car particularly on the wider wheels and tyres that is requires. Imagine how silly it would look with the standard wheel/tyre combo. Probably every 20 year old Premier League Footballers wet dream.

Agree wheel arches look like a patchwork arrangement, a bolt on mess imo.

No, they would go for expensive stock motors, be it Ferrari, Mambo, Bentley or specialist Range Rover types. They need to shout money and success, not "look at my kit car, I spent loadsa money blinging up". Most people would assume its something like a CAT D 316 underneath. Not a symbol of success.

 

I note it has a millennial "deep and meaningful quote" tatooed on the door.
