Currently watching on Sky, while having a cuppa.

Easy enough to dip in and out.

Ah but you collect your paper from Waitrose in your Golf R,

some of us are on Poverty TV and Freeview saving hard for a Hot Hatch.

Nice one Poverty man or is it just a Scotsman trait ? I actually walk the dog and pick up my Freebie Sunday Times at the local Waitrose later.

My Golf R will go through it's Sunday inexpensive detailing later. Not as wealthy as BMW owners unfortunately. Haven't got the £500 spare

Can only just fund my recently

acquired personalised number plate.

Couldn't afford my WOW plate.

Enjoy your low cost racing George

A bit of action already, lots of 'moments', been watching on eurosport and the web.  :sun:

Almost tempted to get SKY.

Or need to go down the Pub after the Scotland vs Ireland match ends.(listening on the Radio sadly)

But then there is Boxing on Spike,

TT Lightweight Race Highlights,

Boxing on Channel 5 after that.

Busy night and not even Strictly, the Voice or Britains Full of ****s is on.

I usually try and dip in around sunset, watching the cars at dusk, with lights on, looks great. :sun:

Download the eurosport ap or connect via internet, full HD coverage for £5.99 no tie in, just cancel subscription before next payment, easy enough to do.

So up and breakfasting and watch the Porsches and Audis running faultlessly.

Gorgeous looking day in Lemans

It looked a bit rainy yesterday at the Trooping of the Colour and Prince George was just lovely and cute in Blue as his father was at that age..

All seen watching from my armchair,

i never bothered making the trip to London.

That's nice to know George. I wish everyone was as patriotic as you, then the country would be such a better place. Shame it's got nothing to do with the thread and no doubt a poor attempt at trolling in response to what was a sensible well intended question on my part.

An interesting race I thought, nice to see Porsche win a close race. Webber may have moved but he's still coming second  :D Hopefully Nissan will sort their fwd car for next year and cause a stir.

You think so? I think they may decide 5 years of pouring money into Ben Bowlby's "alternative" racing car designs is enough.

Last time they should have won le mans, they did it by building a conventional car and attacking mob handed with 7 of them. They only lost because the teams didn't share data.

I think where they went wrong was not fitting an Almera silhouette body, they could then have had the first fwd hot hatch at Le mans. :sun:

Good thinking,

but the Almera Tino silhouette would have been perfect as a first fwd Mini MPV at Le Man.

I loved the opening couple of laps seeing the Audi, Porsche and Toyota prototypes all together particularly given the future was looking grim when Peugeot pulled out.  Audi and Porsche put on a fantastic race on Saturday as I couldn't believe how close they were for so many hours even allowing for the safety cars.  It's just a shame Audi dropped off the pace overnight, I was hoping for some rain or similar to bring the cars back together.  An amazing effort from Porsche getting all three cars home plus a 1-2, it's such a complex car I didn't think there was any chance they'd get one through the race without issue.  I do worry it's the end of more interesting hybrid systems though now Porsche have shown high capacity batteries can work.

I was gutted Toyota weren't even remotely competitive, they've done an amazing job stepping in at relatively short notice to compete with Audi and last year I really thought they were going to get their victory.  I don't know where they go from here, their hybrid system seems good so I don't know if its their aero that's more letting them down.

I liked Nissan going with something completely different and their support for endurance racing in general is fantastic, they're usually very active in other GT3 series and providing live streams and chatting with fans during the race.  I loved the look of their new car but I increasingly felt they shouldn't have been racing it, the car seemed a long way from race ready in pretty much every way - it wasn't reliable, it wasn't fast and it looked difficult to repair.  Their thinking for a front engined, FWD car seemed good but they seem to have demonstrated why it's a bad idea, in particular it seemed to make the car too delicate at the front and too difficult to work with.  It's fairly common for cars to dunt their front and most can change it quickly, Porsche in particular replaced the #18's front ridiculously quickly.  The damage done to the Nissan when it hit that debris took it out for hours (which I doubt it would have done for other cars) and the Nissans were also having to stay off the kerbs for similar reasons.

As usual a good battle in the GTE:Pro category, although I'd have liked to see an Aston Martin (not a general fan of the brand but they put a lot of effort into endurance racing) I was really rooting for the Chevrolet after the loss of one of their cars.  I can't believe Aston lost the GTE:Am win so late in the race and right in front of the pits as well, that must be hard to swallow.  Most of the cars look and sound great but the GTE cars sound particularly great, they all have a fantastic roar and each one is quite distinct as well - although it disrupted the interviews in the pits I did like when you heard a GT in the background fire up and briefly drown out everything before it left the pits.

Such a shame it's just once a year although I quite fancy getting over to Nurburg to seem the racing this year as I've not been able to make it to any of the races this year due to bad timing with work.

These were my thoughts, the modern cars are very complex. I watched the classic race run earlier and I wondered how many of these would be being run by gentlemen racers in 50 yrs time. Not many I would think.

On Quest now.

24 Hours of Le Mans 2022, Away to start.   Well on Quest til 17.00

Alpine has been knobbled pre race with both a weight penalty and told to take 16 hp off their output so losing out on the Mulsanne straight.

Quite possible to lose their lead in the WEC championship in part due to this.
