New to Skoda and my Superb

Featured Replies

So picked up the used 2009 Superb 170 dsg on Thursday and very impressed. The Volvo V50 I traded in certainly was tired as now get no knocks or bangs from the suspension area just a quiet ride.

My first auto car in 40 years so taking a bit to get used to. Trying to pair my Note 2 phone to it but no joy yet. Shall try again once these night shifts are out of the way. Noticed today that the rear centre console display isn't showing anything. Is this an easy fix?

No doubt other little niggles but very impressed so far. Photos soon hopefully.

Some of the older Superb's only pair with phones using the RSAP method, (Remote Sim Access Protcol) - this used to be on some old Nokias and some Samsungs I think from memory. The later ones had a change to the system which was a HFP (hands free protocol), so they can connect easier.

Do a search, there is something like a BT module upgrade you can do to let your phone connect - box under the drivers seat somewhere I think.

Sorry not much help, but may give you a steer.

Regards

There is a lot about phone connection on this site, have look at thisrSAP Bluetooth to HandsFree - Sucess!

If that does not help do a search on this forum and you may find something that will help.

As far as I am aware the screen at the back only shows the outside temperature. As I enlist in the front  :D  I never get to see it. Try turn ing on the ignition and then have look at it.

Latest news. Son in law has paired my phone to the car. Good news there. The rear console display doesn't display anything. Must look to see why not. Still loving it. Thanks chaps.

You'll quickly get used to the DSG. You'll get some great advise and help from the members here on issues you've got and any further queries you have. Welcome to the Superb clan!

The small rear screen displays the time and outside temperature.

That's the problem. My small rear screen doesn't display anything. Would like it to work though. Phone done, just this to do so far.

Welcome...great choice of car, and well done on connecting your phone. I had the same and found it a great benefit. On the rear seat display it's a pig to get to but there is a multi connector behind the handbrake, under the storage (on my 2013 L&K anyway).

Not much to connect on that rear display, only CAN and power if I remember right. So the chances are the plug has come out.

I shall try that then. Thanks fella's.

It should look like this...

Last night shift tonight so shall tackle this in the week.

So drove down to Devon 170 mile stroll in this car and found it a breeze. Back on Thursday to tackle a few jobs at home and try to fix the rear console display. So people, how best to get to the display please?

Take out the ashtray below it and push from behind if I remember right. That ashtray comes out by pulling, which I found by, well, pulling. I think i just pulled it further open than normal and it came out, but I can't be sure as it was some months ago.

Have taken out the ashtray to get to the screen. Taken it out, reseated all the connectors but still no display. Everything else fine, the heated seats and the 12v outlet but no temp display. Anubody have any ideas what sort of voltages i could check to see if its the wiring or indeed the display?

Apart from that the car is fine and seems pretty good on the fuel mileage.

Have you checked the feed coming into the unit?

That is my question. Obviously expecting a voltage but don't want to "blow" anything so don't know where to put my meter across. Any ideas please or may have to visit the sealers.

if you shove a test meter across the feeds I don't think you'll blow anything...

Shall give that a go when I get the chance. Work is in th way at the moment.

So put a meter across the lead and there is a feed to it so it has to be the lcd panel. Never mind.

Found a panel on the fleabay for a very reasonable price and delivered very quickly. Fitted and all is fine. Wish I had noticed this before I bought the car. Never mind. All up and running now.
