rear sensors sticking

Featured Replies

im not putting this down to nothing more than newness[for now], when selecting first after reverse, the rear sensors stays on for about 20 seconds, think its no more than sticking switch in the gearbox, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this,

Yes - noticing it on my Fabia 3 - a bit disconcerting when the thing is still beeping at you when you're driving forward!

I imagine that it's more a delay in software to take account of some peculiar circumstance ( one, which doesn't come easily to mind !! ) ???

Mine does is and so does a guy at work with the same car. Not sure why though as the last one i had (12 plate) didnt do it. Maybe just another safety thing to remind you there's still something close behind you incase you roll backwards.

Get someone to check if your reversing lights are still on????

I have the full Park Assist and it seems to stay active until you hit about 10mph, about the same time the doors autolock and the dipping passenger mirror returns to its normal position. The reversing camera goes off straight away though.

Hasn't this been brought up before and found to be normal for MY15 onwards?

Which mine is, but I have full park assist which does behave a little differently

ok cheers, i had an early model prior to getting this, thats probably why i havent come across it

I have front and rear sensors on my 62 plate Yeti, after going backwards the sensors are still active front and rear. I expect the point is that if you are negotiating into a parking space you (may) need to know if you are too close at the front as well as the rear.

As others have said they go off once your speed picks up (alternatively you can just cancel them) which is what I do if I get fed up.

Yep , they go out straight away, and ParkPilot stays on .. and vegit8's answer makes total sense.
