Radio wiring help.

Featured Replies

Make sure you get one with the right fittings as the aerial lead on the car is usually an ISO plug, not DIN.

I had to get this one - ISO to DIN http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261252631223?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I have the same one attached to my Pioneer HU. Isn't it universal ? :dull:

How are you finding it? Does it work ok?

I can only really get capital and that's about it. Any others and I have to use my phone to stream internet radio via Bluetooth.

1st of all, make sure that you didn't activate by any chance that radio stations filtering stuff that allows you to play only the ones with the best reception.
You can really notice the difference between with and without the aerial booster.

Yes it works fine for me. The standard factory radios have a signal booster built into them. This is why you need to use a separate booster for aftermarket radios as they don't have an inbuilt one.

No they can have different connectors to suit the car's aerial lead. I believe the one in Matt's link is wrong for a Fabia because it has a DIN connection instead of an ISO one where it joins to the car's existing aerial lead. You also need to know what type of connection is on the back of the new head unit.

My new Headunit has the same connection as the fabia as it fits straight on. Just doesn't quite get a signal on it.

Ah right I see. Upon seeing that I have remembered that I had to buy an adaptor (like the one linked above) to get the aerial to fit on the new Headunit.
