I could be wrong, but I think Predictive ACC is now available on the Superb as well.

30 colour mood lighting can be coded in with VCDS/VCP. (I've done so myself on my MY2018 280)

The predictive adaptive cruise control is sort of the £200 travel assist pack.

I have seen a few l&k 280s however most are 18reg or older and with lots of miles, or don't have the rear wiper or have beige interior.

My current car is a late mk3 non facelift with the optional virtual cockpit, rear wiper & spare wheel

The passenger seat has 3 person memory and regards to the comfort entry/exit thanks for that. I wish they still did the TV option.

I love a panoramic roof.

roof. The main reason for wanting a change is

My daily commute is 18-20 miles to and from work and it's 20 miles if I use the motorway which I only spend a collective 14 minutes per day and my annual mileage is actually under 10k. So I have been told no point having a diesel anyway but I got this car as I wanted a l&k in silver with the above mentioned features and my wife and I did actually intend to do alot of travels across Europe with the car and then COVID happend.

Last year there was a black 21reg l&k with the new 280 engine with pan roof, spare wheel & rear wiper but at that time we had other expenses we had to sort out and the car was gone within 3 days of the ad being up anyway.

Now I am in a position to get one there is nothing so I was just going to order a new one with these options

Travel assist - traffic sign recognition, adaptive lane assist, predictive adaptive cruise control, traffic jam and emergency assist £200

18" Antares alloy wheels with anti theft wheel bolts and super ROWI tyres £0

Rear windscreen wiper £0

Heated windscreen washer nozzles £60

Area view £455

Temporary spare wheel £200

Sunroof £960

Was opting for the 18inch wheels as this superb and our previous SEL 220ps had/have the 19inch trinity alloys and I find they are not very comfortable and the previous had pirelli p7s and the new one Bridgestone potenza s001s.

However its not meant to be I guess, I am so gutted as the superb l&k for me is the best all round car for the money.

Have you got a dealer to check the pipeline for cancelled orders?

I used DrivetheDeal.com for my L&K 280 Estate - they are normally quite quick to withdraw any vehicles/options that the manufacturer deletes - just had look at their web site and the 280 L&K is still being offered at just over £38k with the options you list?

Thank you so much I'll check them out.

I had a look but it is for ordering a brand new car. I don't see anything on there that is readily available.

Yes I got them to check there is nothing but regular cars with 190ps TSI or 200ps TDI and most are sportline plus models and SEL models and the L&K ones are not really in specs that I want. I wouldn't even mind an estate just so as long as it's a l&k 280ps with those options and in black, grey or silver.

Honestly I have never been so upset. The one time I am in a position to order or get what I want and then the EU decide that speed limiter a are the way forward and the UK decide to adopt this. Therefore there isn't any point is having a 280ps car may aswell just have a 1.5 150ps and even that would be too much.

Does it really matter, given the speed limiters can be easily overridden? VAG have not stated, like others, that their marques will be limited to 111mph, have they?

Well yes it does tbh as how do I know If I turn it off or overide it that it isn't still recording or keeping a log of how many times it's overidden or turned off as the cars will be fitted with data loggers aswell.

I mean I don't know about others but if you can just simply switch it off or overide the systems then why have it in the first place? I just don't trust it and I spoke to a few revo tuners and they have the same thought and they don't know if you will be able to fully remove it.

It’s not going to log anything; what would the point? They cannot give the data to Policing, that’s for sure and it will be one of the four systems to switch it off. Easy-peasy. I certainly wouldn’t let that put me off.

Fair enough. My gut feeling is I don't trust it.

I’d find out if it can be spec’d as you want it first and then make a decision. What do you have to lose?

Yea the spec is not the issue, I can have the car exactly as I want it but it won't be here before week 44 earliest, as they told me week 46 is the expected delivery date for any superb with the 280ps engine hatch or estate and week 44 for any superb with the 190ps engine in hatch but the 190ps in the estate is available from week 26-28 same as the kodiaq with the 190ps engine.

Agreed would make no difference to me my car has never been above 100mph. It's how quickly you get there that matters ....

When you have a car that hits 70 inch around 6secs and the motorway speed limit is 70 then what? Even at say 75-80mph you would be getting warning signs etc on the dash never mind 100. As I have stated previously I just don't trust that system and I would rather not have a car with it.

I also intend on travelling on the continent to other countries like Italy and Germany.

Cool !

MOT fail today, front shock leaking. Boohoo, with the DCC system that’s over £300 +vat for one. Tried for Bilstein damptronic but no stock of B4 or B6 in the country until long after the MOT expires😪

That was another reason I didn't go for the L&K knowing I would probably be keeping the car for a while I thought the power tailgate was scary enough especially when I found out Skoda were charging about a grand to replace both !! Both mine failed close together last year hopefully these will last another 6 years ...

Both have been reported as “misting” in the last 2 MOTs, this year the offside one has gone (I checked, there is a significant oil leak) so no doubt another one will be needed next year. 6 years and 75,000 miles isn’t great for such an expensive thing.

Edit: I posted before the last post was visible so below is not applicable, but still posting in case it helps others....

I would strongly recommend you check

it yourself, is it really leaking or just misted?

Misted shockers are quite normal and simply a small release of excessively filled oil due to over pressure.  Shocks misting are not an MOT failure, and it takes a significant and obvious leak to fail.

However some MOT testers take ot upon themselves to overuse "their opinion" knowing the customer will have to pay their employer and in turn get a share of the bonus scheme.

Wipe the shocks clean and check after several journeys.

Then if happy take to another MOT station, independents are the best, they shouldn't have a vested interest in failing ot particularly as DCC shocks are so expensive.

Government MOT guidance

A shock absorber must be rejected if negligible damping effect becomes evident at any point during the inspection.

DefectCategory

(a) A shock absorber:
(i) insecurely attached to chassis or axle
(ii) missing or likely to become detached
Major Dangerous

(b) A shock absorber damaged to the extent that it does not function or showing signs of severe leakage Major

(c) A shock absorber bush excessively worn Major

(d) A shock absorber which has negligible damping effect Major

Have you considered replacing the front with standard or uprated non DCC shocks? I personally don't think DCC makes a significant or even a noticeable difference most of the time, and mine stay in Normal 90% of the time. Comfort too wafty and crash on bad roads, Sport too harsh and annoying.

Wouldn't buy another car with DCC as they do seem to fail often if Briskoda is any indication. Ridiculous price for minimum benefit.

Unfortunately it is definitely leaking big time. Black oily dirt over the entire body and some of the surrounding area, liquid oil visible on the shiny bit. The damping is ok for the time being but it’s a clear MOT fail.

Mine stays in sport most of the time, but I sometimes put it to normal around town. A lot of my driving is “spirited” around Scottish rural roads where the firm damping is good. So I do like the ability to change it.
