Back on its wheels at last!

  • Wento for a quick trip to the petrol station. Got sidetracked. I am loving this car! It sounds like it's gargling on the fuel not just drinking it, what an awesome sound!

Here's hoping the body's not as rotten as some of those shots suggest.

I do know that the brake calipers are rebuildable if seized though.

Congrats Rob.  I'm really looking forward to seeing how you get on with this.

I love this - really looking forward to seeing this one progress, especially as it means so much to you.

Get that rust treated and the rest will hopefully fall into place nicely. Good luck with it ;)

looking forward to this one Rob  :coffee:

Looking forward to reading this as it progresses :)

One of the TV programs here in UK ( CAR S.O.S), rebuilt a white one this only had 1/2 an engine & the rust was horrendous, yours looks clean in comparison.

When finished it was the dogs B's

Good luck & am jealous :D

I could not possibly suggest that there is software which would allow you to spoof a UK interweb connection and hence use Channel 4's "watch again" archive to see that episode.

It's on YouTube :) Watched it last night. Mine at least has the whole engine!

That's just wrong ;) The Audi coupe is a 2 door saloon!

I'm itching to get my hands on it now. Vehicle movers collect tomorrow.

I've been tidying my tip of a garage. I appear to have become my dad and hoarded a load of crap. Though I never sacrificed getting the car in there.

Slowly getting there...

It's actually better than I feared rust wise.
I had a day off work so I've started the strip down :D

Many more pics to come of course.

Got the sunroof to work. It was jammed at first so I'm pleased it was okay.

Wow Rob!! That's a proper car and a half. You will have to take me for a spin when I come over to raise Baby Kiwis in my Baby Kiwi sanctuary.

Can I have marinara sauce with that wiring please?

Can I have marinara sauce with that wiring please?

It's a mess. Wires that just end, Scotch lock connectors used, tangles, nothing tied up anywhere. Even in the engine bay.

It's scary put I'm perversely kind of looking forward to getting it sorted out.

Looks like the network infrastructure I inherited when I started my job.

Nothing like getting stuck in and sorting it out properly :)

Blimey! What a project!

Your daughters accents is 'slightly' different to your own :) Give her 20 years and she will be hosting NZ TG
