I've been looking at towbars on ebay and come up with the same issues as with other accessories.

Some of the adverts have drop down options to check that the item is compatible with your car. When I select 2015 1.2TSi it always says not compatible with your vehicle. However if I just select 2015 it gives 3 options which are engine variants 1.6tdi, 1.6 petrol and the 1.2 petrol.

Is there any difference in the towbars?

Have been having a look around for compatible bars for mine and it would seem that anyone that lists compatible for the 1.2tsi are fitted for £500. On the scale of how much the cars cost not a lot but for me it is a none starter at that price I'm afraid. Even Witter warn that it may set the reverse sensors off which is a pain. I'd thought about a removable tow hitch for that reason.

If I remember there is an option in vcds to tell the bcm you have a towbar fitted not sure what it does asni don't have a towbar
