So my vrs has suddenly started having problems starting, it won't catch and takes a couple of trys. Also the EML has come on at same time, wondered if it was the battery but don't have a meter with me as on holiday right now. Any thoughts???

Bit like shooting at hundreds of fish in a barrel. Need a scan as EML has come on. How does it run once started? How is the turnover when trying to start?

Where are you on holiday? Can you get a code read somewhere?

runs fine once started, turns over normally just doesn't catch until 2nd or third attempt. And as the EML came on when this problem started, just wondered if it sounds familiar to any one. Will get it scanned when I can, staying in Lytham st annes till friday.

Possible crank or cam sensor. It's a minefield mate VCDS is your best friend.

another forum mentioned those sensors too, i'll have it scanned asap. is it e big job to do those sensors?
