Yet another problem

Featured Replies

A week before a long trek through France the Engine Light comes on. Add that to the door constantly locking and unlocking, the Airbag light on, the Cruise control light on, the warning triangle.....i am running out of dash space for all these lights.

Car is running fine and has no obvious performance faults so I guess it is some sensor somewhere that needs changing but will I have time to fix it by next week? Oh joy.

Best of luck...hopefully your dealer can just plug it in and diagnose, but it sounds like a dodgy wiring connection, or moisture in the electrics.

Some of those symptoms sound like a broken/damaged loom in one of the doors.  Might be worth inspecting the driver's door wiring if you get a chance

It will be more than one fault, drivers door loop very probable, airbag connector under the driver or passenger seat likely if you carry adult rear passengers especially teenagers.

Massive moisture ingress after we discovered windscreen had come unstuck a couple of years back. Then had towbar fitted and so no cruise control etc. Then a tree fell on the car so repairer I presume disconnected battery and now airbag fault prior to this latest warning. Main dealer is miles away and will not get booked in time. No Skoda dealers in France will help with a problem as we know from experience.

I plan to buy a scanner to check codes and make changes so at least we can see what the problems are. I don't have windows laptop so looking for a handheld around 300 squids. Any recommendations gratefully received.

Might be crazy, but don't you get the Christmas tree effect of everything lighting up when your 12v battery is low or at end of life?

Hi,

A VCDS Hex V2 without any accessories (Box + USB) will be within your budget and will offer full access, including unlimited software updates and support from Ross-Tech.

A critical point then, unless buying a HEX Net version. But I don't know if it still comply with the £300 budget.

FOXWELL NT530 is not available here via Amazon of course. Buying direct from UK will not arrive here in time.

Any other options with a screen for maybe a bit more money.?
