Octavia Combi vRS in Croatia

Featured Replies

Howdy!

I am from most Northern part of Croatia. After 15 great years in Audi, decided to lower a car budget and bought a first Skoda ever.

When I'm not in car, I'm chasing my motorcycle round Europe :p

Okay, sold both VAG cars due to a my better half's workplace switch (we both work in same town now) and bought a Octavia Combi vRS TDI hoping it will successfully substitute primary Audi A4 Avant V6 TDI :dull:.

Combi = Estate as You call it in GB :D

Greetings from Croatia!

Welcome to Briskoda, yes combi in this country is the mk1 vw camper van , and Estates used to be called Shooting brakes ! , for gentry to put their haul of shot pheasants  in! , now they are lifestyle vehicles  :nerd:  :D

Thank You.

Ha ha ha, nobody told me about it when I was in GB.... so let me share something different:

We used to call them (still do in slang) "caravans" originating from jokes of tourists traveling to the seaside via inland (usually with toilet paper at the top of the back window as a rule of a thumb  ). Or even earlier for ex. people from more eastern europe, like turkish people travelling in Opel Record Estate round 60's - 80's.

No offense, please, thoose things only came from folks...

Combi is a German name, in Croatia, word "combi" we use for vans actually... what a mess, uh? But Audi made it quite well: All of us know what Avant is
