Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

Can someone just confirm

Are Fact Fitted sensors in the plastic scuff-strip and dealer fitted ones in the painted bumper?

Jono

Factory fitted ones are colour-coded and are just below the black scuff strip. Perhaps this thread helps answer your second question about dealer fitment.

My dealer fitted sensors are fitted in the black strip. I believe all the hatch sensors are fitted in this - I don't know about the Estate, although the brochutre pics suggest they are fitted in the body coloured part of the bumper and sprayed to match. Oh yes - they are fantastic too!

DO the parking sensors have a separate buzzer/speaker, or does it use the tweeter?

Seems to come from approx the same place

Seems to use the tweeter - can't say for sure. Quite a good sound though!

has own speaker behind b post pillar trim

Cool,

So I can safely disconnect tweeters

Yes, and well worth doing too. But you can easily reconnect them if you need to later.

On a reverse question......can parking sensors be fitted to the front bumper trim of the Superb?

Andy

I don't see why not since Fords have them. But it would be useful to have switch control so that you can turn them on and off as necessary. (The rear ones takes a feed from the reversing lights which gets around the need for a separate switch).

I was thinking along the lines of asr type switch by the radio, to switch the sensors on/off, with a fused supply off the fuse box. I wasnt sure though if the front bumper would take them....its just an idea I had to help the missus with the bonnet shape...her being almost midget standard.
