Mallory Park Discussion & Pics!

Featured Replies

Hey everyone!

Mallory Park today was cool. It was a bit hard to work out where to go when I got there, but the marshall on the gate pointed me in the right direction. I was there from 9am to 2pm. It was *so* cold in the morning, but it got better as the day went on. Last thing I saw was a chap roll his Golf at the entrance to the pit straight. We think he got out OK - anyone know any more details?

Apart from that, it looked like everyone was having good clean fun :) And, only a few reliability problems from the sizable Skoda contingent! :D

I'm just sorting some photos out. Will post back in a mo.

Hi,

Agreed a cold but enjoyable day, would have been nice to see more diesel on track kicking, especially Jason's work of art when it's on full power.

Be good to have a get together near the east midlands before xmas!

John

Did Steve manage to keep it on the track ?????????????.....................LOL

Great day at mallory. Must do it again when it's warmer. Here's some pics (the last one is a caption competion):

"Some ***'s put a Skoda badge on that Polo GTi..."

    My effort, Bryan :D

I enjoyed it - FK coilovers totally ROCK on track - performed much better on corners than my eibach setup ever did. :) Power was full all the time too, and I was very happy indeed. :D

How come we only get to hear about it AFTER the event?

Glad you had a good time, anyway.

There's been a couple of threads running - one started by msportman who put out the initial offer to Briskoda. :)

I even feel sunburnt, which is something quite amazing given its the 12th Nov!

I managed to never see them - never mind, was stuck up here in Scotland anyway. Looks like no more track action for me for the rest of the year, now :(

A great day guys. Thanks Jason for bringing it to our attention. Weather was amazing for the time of year.

We do need to meet again soon, come on midlands Briskodians lets see if we can get a decent sized pub meet sorted.

I remembered quite a few of you guys from the mini-meet we had a while back in Mountsorrel. Still can't put faces to forum-names though!

OOh what happened, Lee?

Ahem.... Well it came in from a session with oil splattered ALL over the back of the engine bay and the bonnet, and covering the block....

Suspected head gasket failure.

So thats at least two casualties , a blown up octy and a rolled golf.........

Anglesea, Nick? :)

Love the CC entries. What's the prize? :D

Like Dr Z's liberal use of the spray can.

edit: I should say everyone else there said they couldn't see even a hint of smoke from my car. Was well chuffed considering the amount of beans I was giving it. Might have something to do with the large pipework used throughout the intake, outake,FMIC,inlet. Nothing smaller than 50mm in all of it.

Curses , didn't think anyone would spot that :P

Was a great day out - Mallory again I think!

Great to meet you guys - even if we did blow some gaskets!.

I spoke to the guy with the rolled golf - caused by some SmeeeeeHeeee who couldnt drive a subaru and keep it on line. The final part was gentle and he was just REALLY embarrassed! ( so only the pride was hurt but at least it shows he was trying hard)

Firstly, I had a great day out at Mallory, particularly during the morning session, the car was driving excellently and the circuit is fairly quick to learn and not at all scary. I was a little surprised that only a handful of us were there for the track when it was less than

You must be pretty gutted Lee - hope it works out for the best... :o

Looks like a smashing day was had. Intend to track my Furby next year...

Sorry to hear the bad news mate :( was a good day 'till then.

Very impressed with the suspension set up on your car, the rear ARB and top & bottom strut braces make a hell of a difference as does the LSD, all items added to my wish list :D .

How did I know............................. :rofl::rofl::rofl:

At least this time you got some pictures of it, I seem to remember that you were quite miffed at Brunters when nobody got any pictures of your 360
