Michelin Cross Climate Tyres

Featured Replies

This weekend the TPM picked up a slow puncture caused by a nail through the nearside rear tyre. Could have been worse because all four tyres are now down to about 3mm having done just over 20,000 miles (switching front to rear at 10,000 miles to even out wear seems to have worked out nicely) so I'd already decided to fit a new set before the winter. I've seen good reviews of the new Michelin Cross Climate tyres, it's a reputable manufacturer and the specs on paper looks but I believe at least a couple of Yeti owners have gone down this route so I thought I'd ask if they have lived up to expectations?

If only it was possible to have Yeti sub section particularly for tyres.

You're not going to get a serious answer to that, they've only been out for a couple of months so wear and suitability for ice and snow cannot be answered.

But when my Michelin Energy tyres need changing I'll be fitting them.

I've just had the same thing - found a screw stuck in the front nearside tyre this morning. It's not repairable as it's too close to the edge. Tyres are now 3-4mm after just shy of 24K. I was going to change them after this summer but have now had it forced on me sooner.

I don't want to change just the one tyre when the others are close to getting swapped out anyway, so new ones have been ordered. I'm going for the Nokian Weatherproof in 225/50/17 XL 98V @ £95 each (from Pneus Online). It'll probably cost another £40 or so to get them sorted by my local fitter - he couldn't get the Nokians through his suppliers).

My 16" alloys & winters tyres (205/55/16 94H Nokian WR A3s with 5mm) will be going up for sale once I have some current photos.
