Scout colour

Featured Replies

I'm about to order a new DSG Scout, the 0% PCP deal being the clincher and bringing the purchase forward. Going standard spec apart from a spare wheel. Surprising number of vehicles available either in UK or at Port, problem is I can't decide on colour! From pictures I have seen the Corrida red suits the Scout and is a bit different from the blacks, whites and greys. Does anyone have any pics of the Scout in red? My 1.8tsi Octavia i am trading and the family people carrier are both grey so ready for a change.

In the showroom today signing up for my Scout, which I pick up on Tuesday (metallic grey).

They had a red scout in the showroom and it looked fantastic! Very nice contrast with the red body and black rim.

So pictures are nice, however, very very nice in real life.

Thanks Rob, thats a big help. The black and silver trim contrast I think looks good in the few pictures I have seen so it's good to hear it looks as nice in the flesh. Where is your Scout coming from, I see you are in Glasgow? Is it the manual or DSG you have gone for?

Hi Shuggy

Gone for the 184 DSG and ordered from Henry's (the best dealership in Glasgow IMO).

Went for the metallic grey as my last Mk 3 was red and wanted a change, however, having seen the red today was wondering if I've made a mistake - it was that nice!

Cheers

I am in Perth but likely to be ordering through Ingrams in Ayr after a good Carwow quote. Tempted to go through to Glasgow to see the red one though!

Hi Shuggy

Don't know Ingram in Ayr, however, would avoid Parks in Hamilton (very poor after care service).

If you are going to Ayr why not drop into Henry's, it's on the way.

Cheers Rob, might just do that.

West end at dunfermline are worth speaking to as well, excellent service and were very competitive against car wow quotes

Ingrams were excellent with me.

Ingrams were excellent with me.

So far they have been fantastic, really easy to deal with and not the least bit pushy.

Hi Rob

Glad you are enjoying the car. Did you have any extras on the car?

Hi Shuggy

Sorry no extra's (it's a company car - ok I own the company however, I've got car budgets).

Still getting used to the DSG box, overall love the car, do I love the DSG? maybe yes, maybe no.

I'm going to post a detailed Scout DSG review in a few weeks, however, feel free to ask any questions Scout related!

Cheers

I test drove a black Scout a fortnight ago and liked it very much, although I wasn't convinced by the contrasting silver-grey front and back protectors, wing mirrors and roof bars. I really preferred the co-ordinated look of the standard estate, but there were no 4x4s available immediately with the lack of extras I wanted! But there was a silver Scout to be had, and as I thought the silver-grey bits might look all of a piece with that colour, I grudgingly agreed. I saw it at the garage today and it looks great! Delivery next week.

I also looked at a silver one at my local dealer but apart from not getting a good deal on it,I prefer the contrast of colours! Can't go wrong with silver though.

Rob...I have had a DSG on a Golf Gti and loved it, not driven one with the diesel engine but am sure I will be happy with it. I would have quite liked the Xenons, LED's, winter pack and camera but couldn't justify it, none were a deal breaker.

No update on mine yet but hoping it is 'on the water'. Got to get my Octavia hatch sold now!

Hi Shuggy

That's me up to the 200 mile mark (since Tuesday!) and starting to really enjoy the car,

Very impressed with the performance (not pushing it as I'm still running in), however, at a 'difficult roundabout' yesterday engaged sport and the car took off - no drama it just went!

Enjoy (when it comes)

Rob

I've just ordered a Corrida Red Superb to replace my Scout .... Be really interested to see any red Scout pics especially with silver rails ...

Looks fine when you click on it! Looks great, i have ordered mine without seeing one in the flesh. Are you happy with yours?

Gomezz looks great when you click on it....  Thanks ! Shuggy2876 Don't be lol !!! Scouts a fantastic motor ! The day I leave mine behind will almost be like losing a part of the family. Best car I've ever owned ... Looks fantastic in red :-) I'll really miss the feeling that I'm in a car that can 'cope' .... I don't think i'll be saying to the Mrs.... This is a Scout road with a big grin when the Superbs banging up and down farm tracks ....

See you are just over in Worksop Gomezz.... I'll keep an eye open got you !

Ok I'm still in 'honeymoon period' but possible the Scout is 'the' Octavia to have fast, 4x4 and very refined.

Also on contract hire much cheaper per month than the VRS (184 Scout vr 184 VRS)

Sorry VRS owners, very subjective I know!!
