Yeah i thought about buying the app and dongle but can't afford it atm and not sure it's worth the money just for the needlesweep, and the dealers are too stingy to do it for free, IF they could actually do it which they can't lol

Nothing is free in this world.

You could have other things done at the same time mind

Why would the dealer do it for free? They charge £70 to plug the lead in and press a few buttons

But when they are already there doing some other work, Service Campaign work or Warranty Repairs or the likes that you have had to give up time and spend money to get to them, and Skoda UK are paying their time,

you might get them to do you a favour and make setting changes.

We have just done it on a Fabia and golf   --------    however some things can not be done on later models due to new manufacturer for the cluster on later cars

I'm hoping that there is a word missing from the above, ie "yet"  good old RossTech will come up with the goods soon?

Dno how late the cars have to be.

Mines a 2013 and has got it.

But others (as said earlier in the thread) are just finding it listed in different places.

No! As it's a issue with the cluster if it's a H type cluster it will not activate,it might be under sweeping or indication calibration

Ah,sorry, I'm confusing reprogramming knowledge lacking/lagging with hardware limitations - I did not read your posting fully. My interest in this is the current lack of "6C0" series programming knowledge by RossTech, though I'm sure that they will get there - as wife's new Polo has only few "6R0" series of modules - which are covered, but a few others are "6C0" which are not covered - yet! So I am left frustrated by not being able to change things like "auto-lock/auto-unlock" and "tear drop wiping" - all important things that my wife will not even notice when I've made the changes!

All those will be available on the polo

Hey bud, the Skoda VCDs machine isn't able to enable needle sweep as I've tried with my friend. but there are some apps that you can get on your phone and get the dongle to go with that you can enable it.. as i am yet to do it.

but i had the auto locking doors, seat belt warning taken off and the alarm bleep enabled.

Skoda dealers now use ODIS to configure car settings, it has a lot of restrictions on it. The software will only allow simple coding changes that Skoda allow on that particular model, the software is nothing like VCDS in any form.

Skoda dealers do not have access to VCDS, so if you want a more complicated change such as enabling a feature that is not standard then you need to look elsewhere and no the main dealer.

I've used Carista to play with my 2011 Fabia SE+ HTP. It really couldn't be much simpler. I enabled the tear-drop wipe, the hazards flash when the windows are closed by means of the key fob, the needle-sweep, etc etc. Such things amuse me, slightly. I'll have a play with my mother's Fab, too - not that she'll notice...

I used the app and a obd dongle it was so easy https://vimeo.com/138848944

Shame your not in Manchester I would of done it for a packet of wine gums.
