Fuel gauge stuck at 12 o'clock

Featured Replies

Hi, I've a 2013 1.2 petrol Yeti, still only 7k miles, which I bought almost new from Skoda dealer just over a year ago.

The fuel gauge has decided to stick at 12 o'clock... fuse? Sensor in tank?

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be very happy.

Thanks!

Given it's still under warranty, I wouldn't bother with trying to work out the problem - just take it back to the dealer (or nearest main dealer if you bought it some distance from home).

Does it do it all the time, have you refilled and it stays at the same position ? My one (less than 1000 miles) got stuck at about 3/4 full and after a fill up started working OK again.

Similar happened to me. It was about 3/4 full but I topped up, preparing for a long journey. It sill said 3/4 but after many miles it suddenly dropped to 1/2. and been fine since.

What does it show on the Maxi dot for the range?

Thanks everyone - max dot say 122 miles...

X19: I'm not sure it still is under warranty, as I didn't buy it new - I've been looking at the Skoda website and it seems that they only give a year's warranty for second hand cars, but hope I'm wrong - it is still under 3years old and with tiny mileage, after all!

I'll try filling it up and hope it rights itself - first time it's happened...

If your car has been Skoda seviced from new the 3 year warrantry will apply.

Correction.

It doesn't matter whether the car has been serviced by Skoda or not.

All cars sold by Skoda in the UK get 3 years warranty.

Thanks both - a relief that it's still under warranty!

The third year is subject to a 60k mileage limit.

Well mine had a small warranty job done in the 3rd year and I had done more than 60k!

Nice of the dealer to do that for you (:

Probably happened because you refuelled with the engine running. When refuelling the Yeti always turn the engine off.The guage will return to it self after a while.

Well, I refuelled yesterday but the gauge stayed put at 12 o'clock, sadly. And the engine is always off...

I don't know, my old Fabia was always breaking down and now this! Maybe I'll go back to the first car I ever owned - trusty Humber Hawk.

Use the warranty - it's what it's for.
