Heated door mirrors

That looks like a copy Columbus.

Is that good?

Yes - and also does not have a CD slot either. I've put my music from iTunes onto an SD card. The unit displays all the artist and track details, even the artwork! I'm impressed.

So if it isn't Amundsen, what is it? The Manual says Amundsen.

It is quite conceivable that it is called Amundsen. If that is the case, consider it the new 2015 model. It is vastly different (and hopefully better) from the previous model Amundsen fitted to cars over the last few years.

Yes they are good. There's a few in the Octavia section have them fitted.

Its a £575 option on the current (2016) 110PS Sport called Amundsen.

Hi everyone, sorry I've been away for a week so haven't been able to reply. Can someone send me a pic of where the mirror switch should be to make them heat up, mine defo don't work when the switch sits in the middle?

Your wing mirror adjuster should have either 4 or 5 positions.... Left mirror adjust / Right mirror adjust / A central neutral position / Fold & unfold / Heaters.

The fold and heater positions are usually positioned at the 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock positions.

I'm on the tube so can't post this properly, but your mirror control on the drivers door should look similar to this pic:

Note the 4th symbol out on its own - that is where you twist the knob round to in order to turn on heated mirrors.

Just tried twisting the knob round to the heater sign and it seemed to go, I always thought that was just saying they are heated and that they would come on automatically when you put the rear window heater on. I've never had a car that has a separate switch, but I've never had a car quite like this one.

Now I have Carista'd mine to work with the HRW, it seems the heat position on the mirror switch is inoperative.  Anybody else seen this?

I must admit there are times when I forget to turn the heated wing mirrors off, used to do the same when I had my Fabia.

Would I like them to come on when I put the rear window heater on? Not really bothered.

Is it a hardship having to switch them on and off manually? Not really!

It's odd how different manufacturers implement heated mirrors.

On my Rover 75 and my Jag, they were designed to run all the time.

On my Citroen C4, they only came on with the heated rear window.

On the Rapid and the Fabia, both have a manual switch.

I too frequently forget to turn them off again when using them. Not sure how fragile the elements and wiring is, so can't say if it's likely to cause any medium or long term damage.

For me it was.....

Polo GTi.... Heated mirrors on when rear demister was on.

Mk1 Fabia vRS.... Heated mirrors on permanantly.

Lexus IS.... Seperate buttons for rear demister and heated mirrors.

SuperB.... Heated mirror position on mirror adjuster / folder knob.

Although the SuperB wins as it has the auto dipping passenger side mirror facility when engaging reverse when left in the "left mirror" position. :)

On my Swift it's only one switch for combined HRW & Door mirrors. I prefer them to be separate.

There is no Carista upgrade code.

1. You try it out

2. If you want to save your changes to the ECU, you pay online.

3. That is all.

Wow, a "problem" with the Suzuki there folks :)

I've set this on mine in Carista too and its great not having to switch them on seperately.

Oh Oh!

Actually I was at Grimsby yesterday and in the Suzuki import area there were hardly any Swifts so I guess they must sell all they can get.

However, SX-4's were stacked as far as the eye can see.  Do they not sell?

No problem at all for me :)

Just said I prefer it separate like the Rapid had.
