Featured Replies

Looking at going to 225/45 17s on my octavia vrs so will have to do all 4 at the same time

Only got a max budget fitted of £300 and have found uniroyal rainsport 3 fitted for £75.50 any other suggestions at this price point or is that gonna be as good as I'll get

bloody good tyre the RS3.

Even stand up to some mild track abuse.

I ruined a pair of fronts in under 30 mins at Castle Combe. They are too soft for fast road use in the dry!

Fantastic as a winter tyre IMO, excellent in the wet!

I've been using 215/45 RS3's on an old bmw e36 328is. They're great road tyres considering the cost, as Joe said, they're a little on the soft side for fast road use, i notice the rears squirm under power and the e36 is a very well balanced car, i'd of thought the fronts would have a harder time driven hard on a skoda.

thinking about it, i think you can get Good Year eagle F1 (Asymmetric2) 94Y XL 225/45YR17 fitted for just under £79, i've not used them before but i'm sure they get great reviews, unless i'm confusing them with another Goodyear tyre.

Agree with this - superb winter/wet tyre.... but too soft for much else.

I must be driving like Miss Daisy then!  I've got them on all round and the fronts have been on since last November with about 5mm left - I checked them last week.

Overall I'm happy with them as they've put up with everything over the last 10 months.  The wet grip is great as you'd expect, they were fine last winter although we didn't have any snow to speak of.  As for a summer tyre, I've no complaints.  They cope with the heavier than average weight of the V6 over the front axle and despite this the car still handles well.  I have to stump up for the 19" version but even then they are reasonably priced.  As a good all year round tyre that does most things well then I'd recommend them.  If you want a more focused track tyre or a longer lasting tyre then look elsewhere.

Go for it, they're a great vfm tyre.

think i may just go for these then i must admit anything would be better than the cheap chinese rubbish 205/50/17s i have on there now with the extra width and going for a better tyre i should be quite happy i recon

Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta are awesome. Great in the wet and dry. Stand up to track abuse and last well. 225/45/17 are about £63 delivered from www.tyreleader.co.uk

I remember, I saw them :D

Put some on myself in late August for CC in Sept,,,,,,,,,, MoT in Jan told me the fronts were shagged :D

Good-Year Eagle F1's now lol

The RS3's were bloody good in the wet though.

I have them on the rear of the Superb and they seem a really good tyre. I'd be happy to fit them all round when required.

i`ve got RS3`s all round on my octy vRS there a really good tyre in the wet they are the best tyre and the RS3`s are a lot better in the dry then the RS2`s and they are not bad on price to £93 each for 19" tyres

Rainsport 3s give great grip and are cheap. However they are very soft. A few people complain about soft sidewalls and might be more prone to punctures. So great Summer tyres, but for me only lasted the Summer!

There's some really good deals on the RainSport at the minute, and they are a top notch tyre.

Other suggestion is I'm a big fan of Avons, but most places, the Uniroyal is a few quid cheaper than the Avon ZV5 at the minute. The downside to the avons are they can be noisy.

If I were buying, Id get the Uniroyals.
