Different specs in different countries are nothing new though are they?

The base car is a world car, but the spec is tailored to the market.

In the USA you can even get a 5 door Fiesta ST, yet we only get a 3 door.

I'd choose a 5-door, if only 'cos it's easier to find parking spaces.

My EOS is a pain to park in my garage / car parks, but it wouldn't work with 4 doors.....

I have to say, if I was Ford, holding 1500 deposits and the waiting time was already a year I wouldn't be doing cut price deals like VW did on the Golf R through leasing.

Contacted my local dealership, who have sold 3 for March delivery and further 5 held back because they don't have details of deal yet.

In fact the sales manager(plus his counter parts in other dealerships) was peed off with the price hike in less than 3 months and also with the lack of knowledge to do a deal.

The Production capacity for a Word Car is obviously a problem going forward, for at least a year plus with locked up potential demand.

Currently being told by Ford UK HQ to quote Sept 2016 onward for delivery into UK.

Just noticed that the Ford site has a finance calculator up. The PCP example o done come out as follows;

Cash price - £31,885

Deposit - £4500

Term - 36 months

Mileage - 9000

Final payment - £15,522

APR - 6.8%

Monthly payment - £450.40

To compare, from the VW site a 5dr manual Golf R comes in at;

Cash price - £31,475

Deposit - £4500

Term - 36 months

Mileage - 10000

Final payment - £15,289

APR - 6.6%

Monthly payment - £449.85

The focus added blue paint and bucket seats and the golf has no options. I tried to get the list price as close as possible. No options on the focus gives a list of £29,995 and a monthly payment of £392.45.

Recently heard I'm in the first batch of customer cars being made after the dealer demos.  Early February.

So I should have my RS mid March 2016.

 

If I'd known that I wouldn't have bought that 2nd hand Fiesta ST last week...

Drift Mode!! Wtf is that all about!! Love it!

 

The biggest probem with this car will be twofold: firstly every other road user, and secondly every scumbag will try and take it. If it wasn't for that, it would be on my list, I can't imagine much else will be as much fun to chuck about. If only there was a 5th mode - stealth mode. It needs retractable spoilers and tail pipes, and for the rest of the focus range to be offered the same suit of clothes for it to mingle anonymously with, bit like AMG and M Sport.

Iknow you won't like this, as a German Engineering Hater but the Golf R has been running in Stealth mode since launch ( 2 years) without the need to press a button to select!

Yet still currently fends off the current Hyper-hatch in everyday driving mode.

I'm not sure how anyone can say the Golf R is stealthy!

 

To many from the front or side it can be any Mk7 Golf.  R-Line, eGolf, GTD or any Golf with some Stylee Options,  (Seeing one facing you it can even be a CC R-Line) and even when some see the 4 tail pipes they are none the wiser what it is other than a VW.
