DSG How are you coping?

I have recently completed a 550 mile round trip to London and I have found out more about the behaviour of the DSG. I have read about people selecting 'S' mode to pull out and pass a car only to find that the gearbox is temporarily confused and delays for up to 2 seconds to select a lower gear. I find this is not necessary, just floor the pedal. You feel a switch click at full pedal and this immediately drops a gear or two and the engine gives everything it's got, which is quite a lot at 50 to 70 mph. Does anybody use the manual mode much?
