How to burn CD for Stream (non-mp3)

Featured Replies

I usually had no problems playing burned CD's in any of my car radios before I acquired my 2006 Octavia II.

I'm burning them as audio cd's and even trying different programs apart from my regular windows media player such as Roxio media creator etc.

but any CD I've burnt so far doesn't work. A regular, original bought cd plays in it just fine.

The CD I'm using is a TDK so it's good quality. Regular CD-R 700mb.

Is there any particular program or something I can use to make a CD to work in my Stream (non-mp3) radio?

Edit: It also doesn't have the boot cd changer, just the main head.

Are these CDs finalized? It's some kind of finishing step that doesn't allow you to write any data on that CD anymore. If it's not finalized then some players may dislike the disc.

Read about that on internet. You talked about Roxio CD burning software. Look here (maybe this will help. Anyway, Internet is full of articles about that):

its also possible the laser in your headunit has become weak over time or is simply dirty. CDR disks have less reflectivity than a shop bought disk, so a dirty laser or a weak laser can equal no or poor playback from CDR disks.

Burn at the slowest speed possible, also worth trying a different brand of disc as some players can just be picky I've found.

I'm pretty sure I finalized disc in all the options I've tried but I'll try again.

Yeah I was thinking of trying another brand CD or 2 so I might try this too, if not then I guess my laser is "weak". I'll have to start it on the protein shakes & send it to the gym. *I'll let myself out...

See if you have any old lower speed disks around that you can use. My '03 Octavia juke-box in the boot would not read modern faster CDs. Also try writing at a slower speed as suggested above.

What you need is a stereo upgrade... ;-)
