Deals, Wheels and Steals on ITV

Featured Replies

Thought this would be a nice little series on the day-to-day scenes at used car auctions.

I should have known better, completely orchestrated, it was like watching a soap!

The baton found in the ex-Police Range Rover, the £10 in the Golf's ash tray - all set-up.

Series link cancelled.

I missed it - Is it like the yank one where four garages try to make a profit on auctioned scrappers?

Don't let me put anybody off but what a load of rubbish about wide boys buying rubbish and flogging it on.

Yeah, you got it.

Four so called 'dealers' competing at auction to buy old cars to flog on at a profit.

It isn't a real auction, simply filmed in an auction house using actors and extra's to make it look busy.

A 2002 Golf GTi, a Y reg BMW 3-Series Compact and a 25 year old Range Rover.

And the bull about some unwritten rule where they only bid up in small amounts they the other guy says give him a chance. Year, what chance? If he was going up to that amount anyway he didn't stand a chance to start with so who cares? That was rubbish to.

And I thought the colour he painted that Range Rover was crap.

sounds crap.

the original is called Texas Car Wars (on Discovery).  I quite enjoyed series 1.

It's ITV. The Daily Mail of television channels.

I watched it & i was expecting better if im honest,no way in the world was that range rover worth what it sold for,the golf looked quite tidy apart from the silver door  :D The bmw compact looked a nice tidy car but didnt sell........ :notme:  i will watch it next week & see if it gets any better.

I stuck through one episode and this was honestly one of the worst motoring related programmes I've ever seen, more worthy of motors TV than ITV!

Motoring related and funny?

Give 'Lizard Lick Towing' a try, on Dave. Granted, it is about as made up as VW's emissions, but it is funny if you can look past this.

And they get beaten up every now and then. Bonus.

So that's a blessing then!  I read on here how dire it was but I had recorded it so I thought I would give it a try.  It was as dire as I had been told.

I already cancelled my series link on SKY out of protest  :D

  • 2 months later...

1st time watching this now...

It's great fun watching private dealers who know each other trying to out-do each other...

Not liking Scott who clearly planned to 'get back' on a new comer dealer just because 'new comer' pushing prices up....
