Riding & Co Skoda, Preston, Lancs

Featured Replies

Appols if this is the wrong forum, but anyone no the reason why I recieved a letter from Skoda UK Customer Service Centre this morning informing me of the following regarding my local dealer where I purchased my VRS from;

"By mutual agreement, they no longer hold the Skoda Sales or After sales franchise in Preston"

Not to bothered as the nearest dealer to me now is only round the corner from where I work in Blackpool - just wondered why they had lost the franchise and if anyone is in the know?

Initial thought was that Skoda UK may have found out that they used to encourage people to visit the local Revo place, and even got their demonstrators mapped, they also were more than willing to turn a blind eye to mods when warrenty work was required.

All in all, bit of a shame as they where not a bad outfit from my experiences of dealing with them.

Dont know the answer to your question, but is it true that Riding & Co and Woodheads are sister companies? (Or were)

Yes !

Riding and Co bought woodheads out a couple of years ago. Woodheads will soon, if not already be the only Skoda Dealer, and Riding's will carry on with Subaru and the other stuff they sell. AFAIK.

Riding & Co was sold to Arnold Clark on Friday.

It will be a AC used car outlet from now on.

That being so, I have removed Riding and Co from the Review Station.

Yep, went down there today and they have been taken over by Arnold Clark.

As far as I am aware Woodheads are still there as the letter from Skoda said they where now my nearest dealer and I should use them if I wish. However a new (I think ?) dealer seems to have sprung up Accrington/Blackburn way - Simpsons

I have spoken to Woodheads today, and can confirm that they are staying as a Skoda dealer/servicing franchise, under the ownership of Riding and Co.

I bought my car from them and have nothing but praise for the service and courtesy recieved from them in all aspects.
