I have on order an Octavia 1.6CRDi DSG due in November (MY16). The brochure quotes 110hp not 105hp

What engine code will it have, EA189 or EA288 and which one is the newer unit. I presume EA288

Also can for instance a EA189 be a 1.6 and a 2.0

What are the major differences between the two engines, are they completely different designs

EA288, no other diesels have ever been fitted to the Mk3.

Yours will be EU6...just gone that way recently....earlier cars were EU5+
