Is VCDS available as freeware

Featured Replies

As mentioned in the title is VCDS freely available?

Also does anybody have a wiring diagram for the VCDS cable.

Vcds lite is but doesn't work on can based cars.

For the full version the cable includes a dongle to activate the software. So you can't make your own.

The genuine cable contains the license to use the software,

VCDS lite is available as a free demo download for older cars like mk4 golf and below. License is only £60.

For anything newer you want VCDS which has the license in the dongle. £260 not bad really for what it does intact it bloody good.

I'm thinking of ordering one and the first thing I'll enable will be HBA & Cornering Fogs.

£260 for VDCS vs £410 for specifying the lighting options gives it a total cost of - £150 :)

Always comes in handy for fault codes. Plus you can always sell it on.

Or message someone who has one and ask them to enable for some bear tokens.

I enabled the toe bar on a scout a few months back. Crazy the amount of ecu's you have to tell the car that it now has one lol

Since buying mine 3 years ago I've probably saved friends and family over £2k in options/labour rates.

So bit of a bargain that £250!!

Given the quality of the product and excellent support go for the original, believe me it's cheap at £250 and worth every penny.
