Glad you're sorted.  Wugfresh makes everything a doddle.

Nexus devices are usually pretty good at being able to recover from a pretty dead state.

I've left my mk1 nexus 7 uncharged for ages and now it refuses to boot and even plugging it in gives no charging icon. any suggestions on how to resurrect this?

Press and hold the power button for 30-40 seconds and it should start itself

Mine does this, it's started to take several minutes before it'll start charging, and then a few more before it's able to actually turn on. The battery is more than likely just on its way out, if you've left it to discharge too many times or for too long then eventually the battery just can't hold a charge anymore, Li-Ion batteries don't like it.

Your laptop was probably too busy downloading Win10

!"£$%^&*()(*&^%$£" Win10 pah!

Been there tried it, it broke, deleted it. :D
