Looks very nice indeed.

Any details on the "detail" ie. products, time spent, price?

Always best to have your car looking its best in that situation!

It took two days and as I paid in cash, it was only £200 which seeing as the guy sorted several small scratches, i thought it was money well spent.

2-day detail for that sort of money seems like good value - the finish looks great.

As long as you are happy with the work and improvement on the paint work

Also interested to know what products were used and to ensure it was well sealed/protected?

Not sure to be honest but if you PM me I can give you the details.  Its a place in York

Ok mate - just curious really....

It looks fantastic. I've seen a few people do this and it always looks great, but do you mind if I ask an obvious question? How long does it stay like that. I only clean my car with a bucket and at this time of year it's filthy again in a couple of days of motorway driving. With the detailing does it make subsequent cleaning easier? Or somehow keep it clean for longer?

Dr P, it really does stay cleaner. Sounds ridiculous but the dirt seems to fall off it, must be the wax!

It looks like a decent job TBH...But that is very cheap for 2 days of work

A well sealed car doesn't get so dirty and is easier to clean, plus the sealant protects the paint from UV and harmful contamination like iron fall out.  The result is the investment in the detail saves some time later, keeps the paint good for longer, and it gives a lovely shine.  His long the product ( and hence the shine and protection) lasts is very variable.... Different products, where the car is kept, what it is exposed to and how it's washed all affect that.

If you want to get really into it check out the detailing world (and similar) forums.

People tend to use longer lasting but less glossy stuff over the winter, then short-lived but attractive waxes and/or sealants over the summer months.

just check the styling and car care forum here at briski, what ChrisRs or Samuir1974 dont know can be written on a pin head
