Navigation Updates - does Skoda know what it is doing?

Featured Replies

I woke up this morning to 5 identical e-mails from Skoda with the catchy title "KW45 Subject".

These all said: "Dear customers, Starting from November 2015, you can download current version of maps for your navigation systems. The optimal route calculation featuring the current maps is both cost-effective and environmentally-friendly.  Further information about ŠKODA infotainment system updates can be found here."

Great, I thought, I'll pop to the download site and grab the updated map.  Except the "here" link in my e-mail doesn't work.  Never mind, I bookmarked the site last time I updated.  I'll go and look that way.  Enter my VIN.

What a surprise: no new update.

A bit of an all-round fail!

Anyone else also getting these mails?

Interestingly the portal now says " further updates in May" whereas it previously said " update due in November "  but as you say its stiill showing the 2015-2016 maps.

**** up and brewery spring to mind.

They **** it up every time ......

Got the emails and the link is dead in mine as well.

Maybe 2015/2016 maps are the newest and they do not intedn to update it now.

It's crazy to send 5 e-mails and dead link in it ...

Can you remind me what site it links to again please, mine is in real need of an update now (I have the 2012/ 2013 maps in mine and they are very much out of date in some places). I think it's about time I updated it.

I got the same emails, but I have just Bolero. Nice!

Anyone know where I can find a website that has the Bolero Radio station logos to download? I have all of those for Europe but not one of the UK stations has a logo!

UK car, Euro station logos only! Barking mad n also one of the reasons I stayed away from inbuilt Nav. My 7 year old TomTom is still dependable and cheap to keep upto date if I even bother.

Now I am worried about the Columbus that maybe in my next car!!!

Pardon my thickness, could you paste the full link in as try as I might on my wee phone, following that link takes me to the "have a look at all the features of this lovely Golf" page. I could not find the tab with logo link or update page anywhere.

Thanks again in advance

It doesn't seem like the maps are actually ready yet. It still says:

"The Last maps were released in June 2015. The next update is scheduled for Nov 2015"

Probably just an overly keen communications department hitting "send" by mistake.

It should mena that they are almost ready though.

Queue 50 posts say "my Amundsen update doesnt work from my Mac"....

Yep.  The "KW45 Subject" that was the title of my e-mail probably standas for "Kalenderwoche 45 Subject" - i.e. a placeholder for the proper subject for a mail to be sent out this week (week 45).
