Best Options to add to SE Business?

Featured Replies

About to order above in Hatch 2.0tdi

Looking at adding

1 Steel spare

Metallic Paint (silver)

Boots Net

Boot Floor

Bluetooth plus

Canton Sound

Intelligent Light Assistant and High Beam

Am I missing something essential or are any of these not worth the price?

Any feedback appreciated!

Park assist would be useful for around £600, I would also think about xenon headlights as the standard halogen headlights are very poor.

Definitely Xenons. Canton is very good for the money it costs.

Depends whether you are looking to buy outright and keep longer term or PCP/PCH for a shorter period.

Just note the Octavia depreciates very heavily...can be offset a reasonable amount by buying through a broker at discount....but discount will be limited if you take the PCP deal.

With a PCH...you'll effectively pay back the total cost of options over the period of the lease so could serve to make a reasonable deal all the more costly.

I personally think the Octavia in all guises is pretty well spec'd and is best value if you add few if any options.

All I would say is that if you are looking to get an SE Business and upspec it; unless you have choice constraints for some reason why not just consider an SE L and be done with it.

It comes with ILA and HBA, Bluetooth+ isnt really a necessity and the stock audio is pretty good (improved with the newer audio fitted for MY16). Just my view though.

I have to agree having had bi-xenons for the first time on a Mk7 GTD, they'd be something id struggle to live without now....also love heated seats. Often the case of not missing what you havent had.

Unless the design has changed, the boot nets don't really work with the variable boot floor.

Agree with this - I originally looked at an Elegance / SE-L with a few options, and it actually bumped it over the PCH deal that an L&K cost me! Worth considering SE-L, just to compare cost if anything

I thought the same - but got my PCH through a Skoda main dealer (they matched the best price I could find online) and the options added about 60% of their cost over the term. Can't remember exact numbers, but it was just a bit more than half, definitely not 100%.

Through other online leasing companies it did add 100% to the quotes, as you said.

I also considered the SE Business as it has decent spec, but ended up going for a vRS which was almost the same price and also high spec.

I added SmartLink, spare wheel and heated seats.

I have had heated windscreens before on Fords and they are FANTASTIC. If you have the budget for it, I would definitely add it. I didn't go for it because I felt it cost too much (you have to add heated seats as well) and I'd already upped my budget for the vRS. I just got the heated seats alone, so at least I'll be warm while waiting for the windscreen to defrost  :sun:

Thanks all for your prompt and useful feedback.

The car will be a company car which will be going back at the end of 3 years so the residual value is the Contract Hire company's problem. My dealings with Skoda Finance back up Newbie's comments they do prove more competitive than other providers possibly because they will be more aggressive on that residual value.

I would love the Xenons but £970 is too steep,

Park Assist is too challenging for my control freak nature

However top thanks go to Pipsypreturns as I had foolishly not considered switching to SE L. I am investigating this option now.

If you're flexible with colours and options there are cars in stock, avoiding a 12 week wait.

Just a further thank you for the feedback. I took delivery of a Skoda Octavia 2.0 tdi manual SE L HB in Quartz grey with Simply clever pack ( reversible boot floor (excellent), storage for phone (iphone 6S just squeezes into it) and waste bin (not worth it)), boot nets (worth it if you want to stop anything rolling around in the cavernous boot) , steel spare wheel. Really impressed with whole package. Only option I may have added is Smartlink but I think I can activate via dealer for a fee.
