battery

Featured Replies

is there something special about a battery for a fabia 1.2 htp, dealer quoted me £123, even he got a shock

Sounds like they were trying to sell you a "winter" battery!

No, sorry that is no longer a joke,

I'd suggest getting a measuring device out and find out the true height, width and length of that battery and take a look on ECP website to see what they have on offer from Bosch etc - Varta is same.

Edit:- VAG is probably trying to pull in some cash right now, so it will be special, now that we are in winter, prices!

thanks, will do its amazing how many different sizes, it doesn't look straight forward to me taking battery off, not like my car

Don't buy a battery from a main dealer, it is like buying tyres from them.

Plenty of cheaper choices.

Genuine Skoda batteries are usually low spec too.

Euro car parts or their sister company carparts4less...................

my big Bosch AGM battery for my Golf was less than that................

I think from memory our Fabia htp had an 063 fitment battery.

About £35 for a good budget brand and £70 for a high end branded battery.

Always worth checking online prices for ECP, including eBay, then do click and collect as the prices will be quite different from if you just walk in.  Local store were being numpties to me over pricing, so I stood there at their counter and went online on my phone and did click and collect.  Was quite satisfying.

Don't forget GSF are a Brisky sponsor now.  Example as it might not be the right one:

Haven't they got 25% off at the mo' too?

thanks everyone, before i phoned i though about £55, Other half got a battery from jag  dealer for his car it was 4 litre engine and that was only £102 monster it was, it was actaully cheaper going back to dealer on that occassion

I was offered to have a new one fitted to the passat by VW for the bargain price of £237.68 when it failed a battery test.

I suspect it is on its last legs, however, is still going 10 months later. Online price delivered was about £130 for a very good battery.

I'd go with this one.

I'd go with this one.

That does seem like a good deal.

Just put an Exide in my vRS now, much better than the original one cost me £63 from ECP.

I'd go with this one.

thats one got  smaller in length than original one,

thanks

Looked at post # and reached for the Brandy. Even allowing for higher spec in mine, and being 4 year ago, mine was only circa £70's  ,from a local tyre place.
