Does anyone know if the car is supposed to have blindspot mirror glass on the drivers side in the UK on elegance trim?

 

Bearing in mind the MK1 and MK2 did, it seems very very tight if the MK3 doesn't and actually quite a dangerous way to save a few pence as pretty much all cars have it now.

 

If it's not standard, does anyone have a part number for the glass with it, or another VAG car that uses the same mirrors and has the blind spot glass?

Yes I have been wondering the same, plus I would also like one for the passenger side as mine is driven more on the wrong side of the road (abroad!!)

I've also been seeking a fix for Skoda's cheapskate omission of a blindspot mirror - backward step form the old Octy 2.

 

So had another look at the website, but it's unclear to me if these mirrors attach to the existing mirrors, or whether they are a straight replacement. I suspect its the former.

Looks like those fit a Polo too, so that might open up the options.

Surely the glue will deteriorate when using the heated mirror function?

That's interesting, if they are the polo mirrors, then a VW dealer will be able to supply the correct glass and the change is a 5 minute job (Or was on the Octy 2).

 

The mirrors linked to above are no good unfortunately, as they're stick on ones, which is definitely not what I'm after.

According to the configurator equipment summary, the new Superb has them too. Driver's side only on the SE to SE L Exec and both sides on the L&K. I guess Skoda see them more as a luxury item than a safety necessity.

Would this replacement mirror be suitable for O3?

SE-L so heated, electric and folding.

At the minute not really cold enough to evaluate the heating.
