It's a shame to hear that, those problems bar the gerbox should only cost £50 to sort out.

When I was at unit 18 with my gear box Ali did say that the amount of o2m gearboxes that he's had to send off for rebuilds last year where roughly one a week.

Yeah, just getting the time to fix little faults like them are annoying.

I don't think I'm getting the gearbox rebuilt, going to fit a new clutch and flywheel and see how it goes with that. A few people they commented on the 1st and reverse problem said it cured the fault.

I don't feel the gearbox has an issue, it's all clutch related, notchy 1st to 2nd, bite is high, struggle selecting low gears from neutral, possible clutch drag, they go away if I double clutch.

Gave it some love today.

Full wash, autoglym hard wax, black bumper trim for any of the... Black trims.

Wheels cleaned with custom wheel clean, sealed with alloy seal and AG tyre shine.

Exhaust has been straightend up since it's never sat perfectly straight since fitting it so that's better now, polished with Autosol inside and out :D

Rear door was indeed leaking from the usual place, so spent a while removing the old stuff, sealing it up and put my two self tapper screws in to pull the carrier in tight, should stop now hopefully.

Got a new coolant bottle and orderd a new black coolant cap also, will fit them soon as the cap turns up.

Also put my sticker on finally :D

Only thing letting the front end down now is the headlights. I'll be giving them a full restore next week as well, then set them up properly.

Typically I sell all the good headlights I get and put the rubbish ones on my own car!

I have some headlight I could sell you.....there like brand new, £200 and there yours :D

Cars looking nice. I need to clean mine, still filthy from brands lol.

Hmm brand new xenon depo or brand new oem, I can't decide which ones to fit to my own car :D

Think I'll go for the black tint again!

Just a little bit of news to keep track of.

The previous owner got in touch today so was nice to get some history about the car.

It's had a lot of work done maintenance wise including a new turbo in 2014 at a Skoda dealership, so it's only done around 20,000 which is nice to know since it's over 100,000 now and getting a new clutch and flywheel I was worried turbo would be soon after.

I've been in touch with Skoda which have confirmed its been in, but for legal reasons can't say the ins and outs of the visit which is a shame as I'd have liked a copy of the invoice! :D

Slowly ticking the list off now.

Nice new bottle to fix the low coolant error light popping up, also bought a new black cap to go with it.

With nice new G13

I also changed the fuel filter again after running a few flushes through it, you can just see it nice and shiny at the bottom of the picture.

Next up, I bought some Genuine xenons from a member described as "good condition" with lenses nice and clear but with some damaged lugs. Recieved them and they were just scrap really. I've ran them for about a month but finally replaced them today.

The black cap i orderd turned up.

despite the description saying it was black, the image showing it black, i even sent the company an email asking them to confirm it was black, they said yes they are all black... so turns out its blue. They gave me a refund so i've just fitted it, brand new blue cap with the brand new bottle.

On a better note, Picked these up ready for fitting tomorrow.

Have you thought about fitting a black coolant cap? I've heard they look really nice....

I am tempted, but once i do that i need the oil one and with the shiny oil and coolany cap i need braided pipework and colourd vac lines, then i need a catch can, then i need a strut brace and before i know it....

So might keep it standard for now!

Summer definitley isnt helping mind, the bug is biting me.... i want coilovers and BBS RW's but then i need 312's and 256's, i keep talking myself out of turning it into a money pit!

So worth the money for upgrading to 312's and 256's got to be the best bang for buck!

Do it in stages - you don't notice the money heammeroghing out of your bank account that way :D

Yes it can quickly turn into a money pit

So the new clutch, dual mass flywheel and slave cylinder have all been fitted now, not without issue, when the car was returned to me it still had air in the system but I've bled it myself and that sorted that issue. It was also slipping in high gears low revs, full throttle, this has gone after bedding the clutch in around 100 mile, the bite is better than ever now also :)

I removed my Genuine Hella xenons to restore them as they both had at least 2 brackets damaged and the lenses were cloudy, scratched and in general poor over all condition!

They now have nice new shiny lenses and all four brackets as new :)

I also set the beam pattern up so they are perfect.

Now with a nice new clutch pedal and while the bleeding kit was out with new fluid, I thought I might as well get the brakes all bled, so all four nipples cracked off ok and new fluid has been flushed through the full system, so the brake pedal is perfect now as well.

Next on the list was the throttle pedal, it's been sticking since I bought the car, I removed and cleaned it which didn't do anything so bought a replacement from a low mileage 2007 1.2. Fitted it but didn't work, so stripped everything down and made one nice new pedal :D

It feels like a new car again now with all 3 pedals being different!

I gave the front end a machine polish with it being worked on to remove any small marks and then gave the full car a wash. :)
