Furby Rs Returns From Amd

Featured Replies

Got my Furby back from a custom remap. There will be a graph up on the AMD site soon.

Before 140bhp

267lbft

After 181bhp

320lbft:o

Performance wise the car feels a whole lot better. The pull on the motorway is huge. Almost felt like being back in a Scooby. AMD will also be adding the One Click soon for the car.

Sadly the rest of the car doesnt seem upto it IMHO. Did quite a few back roads. The suspension really needs sorting ASAP, and I'm not sure lowering it will sort it - shocks as well !. The brakes feel powerfull enough, but lack bite and conviction when your not pushing very hard.

Feeling a bit disapointed really. The car I can feel it reminds me of is the Astra GTE 16V. Nice car, shame about the drive.

AMD did a superb job. Done in the times they said. Anyone whos not been their recently should take a look. Easy to find and a very nice facility as well. Would like to be able to get some Sportec bits :D

Jonathan

Jonathan,

re the brakes; 3 options for you, grp N from Disco @ Impreziv or APs from Godspeed, or even Brembos from Badger5 (Bill). 16" wheels, you can easily run 312mm discs.

Suspension, If KW do a Variant 3, get it. Failing that Konis and Eibachs.

edit to say far canal, that is a shed load of torque! Most impressive.

Wow, loads of torque indeed!

btw how do you find 6th gear? Does it give plenty of go, or do you need to drop it to fifth to get a good response on the motorway?

One Click???

One click is AMD's switchable version. Didnt feel the need to drop a cog anymore.

Jonathan

Glad you happy Jonathan :)

I watched your car eagerly on the rollers and your peak torque was 326 lbft which was incredable.

I owe you a big thanks as its your map that will be uploaded to my car when its been run in :)

I've got some suspension on the way for mine and the 17's I have are dying for some meaty brakes behind them, oh well have to bang in the overtime ;)

Group N+, Group N+, Group N+, Group N+, Group N+, Group N+, Group N+, Group N+, Group N+,!!!!!!

KW's as yet only do V1 and V2 for the Fabia :(, so it would be interesting to see what Techie has going on his:D

Awesome figures though, well done to AMD.

Disco (not desperate to do a Fabia Group N kit, honest ;))

Sounds very interesting. Have noticed that the more I push the Furby, the more the back end feels unstable! Defo need to sort the suspension out and would love to get some bigger stoppies on there too! :D

Ross texted me to tell me about the figures...I was shocked!

They are fantastic mate, well done :)

(Note to self...buy a TDI 130!)

Very impressive figures, Jonathan! eek.gif

Cool results Jonathan :)

I thought getting 140bhp out of it as standard is pretty good and I'm not questioning the accuracy of the RR either ;)

And I suppose it will only improve as the clock up the miles and the engine loosens up a bit. :D

Jonathan, what is the traction like in the lower gears? Or is it like the Focus RS with a torque limiter in first (and poss second)?

Just had a look at the dyno curves on AmD's site - Looks really good, although the torque is a bit high - its showing 264lbft pre remap, so on another rolling road, id expect around 300lbft.

Was this a chip replacement remap, or through the OBD2 port ?

Whats the smoke like ??

James.

What did you expect for under

I was gonna ask what the smoke was like as that was the main problem with ours.... we could have had more than the 185bhp/304lbft but anything over that and the car was getting smokey - personally I reckon skoda have made an **** of the exhaust on the Fab vRS - it should have had hidden downward pointing tailpipes to hide the smoke !!!!

I like the exhaust but as you say its gonna look a bit strange when giving it some. My Revo'd 150 Anni smokes a bit under hard acceleration so if i go for the VRS then i'd prefer a less smokey exhaust when chipped.

Ah chins I remember you from the RS4 days!!!! Fancy meeting up in a Skoda forum!!!!

I know I shouldn't really be posting this, but my Dad has just got a FabRS and I think this a seriously informative site which I found searching for info for him, ALTHOUGH I do have a new Focus. This is my reason for posting, do AMD or anybody you all talk about on here do any work at all with Ford with regards to re-maps? They seem excellent gains and great companies. I have a Focus TDCi Sport and don't really want another Superchips Bluefin (sounds identical to One-Click) which I had on my previous Fiesta Zetec-S... they're making the TDCi's smoke like hell apparently!

Personally I don't think price comes into it...it's more the type of car it's supposed to be.

I can't see the Furby RS being a GTI type and generally most motoring rags agree; it's good on A roads and motorways. Twisties ain't it's bag, man. But then I don't think it was ever intended to be.

It's kind of the same with the Octy RS....better than standard Octys but not what I would call overly sporty.

Anyway nothing a set of KW can't sort.;)

I think VAG has deliberately tied Skoda's hands on this to stop it trampling all over the supposed sports brands....Seat/Audi.

Just MHO.

Hello Jonathan - fancy seeing you here - Fabia dyno day next then :D

Barry VRS - you had a TT done at Star performance - i think i just missed buying your Forge front mount off you when you stripped it b4 buying the RS4.

Jonathan - looks an excellent conversion - i have a test drive of the vRS on Saturday, so will be looking to get one and as usual chipping it.

I did defect to Revo for the Golf, but will be going back to AmD for the Fabia.

Anyone know if Milltek will be doing a system for this car ??

what is/was your car mileage when you had the conversion done Fabrs ?

and 140 before 180 after - could that possibly be 130 / 170 ?? not a smart ass comment just a quizzical mind boggle !

I wouldnt be suprised if standard 130 Fabias were producing more from the factory. VAG are quite conservative with the figures. My 150Pd, in standard form was producing 178BHP on Interpros rollers with 15k on the clock

James.
