Kids, dogs and a clean car - possible?

Featured Replies

Hi..title may sound familiar but am considering upgrading to a mk3 vrs estate next year. Never had an estate before but hopefully will help with dogs in terms of getting them in/out.

So the question is. ... what products are out there if any to protect sills etc. Hopefully you see what I mean in terms of current door sills get stood on no matter how many times you tell them not to stand on them? Or are there good products to clean sills after the event ?

In terms of boot I've seen whole boot liners so looking at one of these.

Liking the idea of a newer vrs - just this time of year can be cruelest tho the inside of a car!

Thanks

I do feel your pain on this one!!! The sills have scuff plates which take some of the brunt, but mine do get scratched. I can machine them out but won't be doing untill I sell up. Other than getting bigger scuff plates I don't think there is much you can do. I could be wrong.

Just polish them up as best you can if you're polishing by hand with a scratch remover. There have been very good results in the post below with the G3 scratch removal kit from Halfords.

Top advice there from Neil. I personally couldn't recommend anything other than that..

Unless you get the vRS and then a cheap run around for the dogs and kids haha!

Not just kids that leave scuff marks. Most will come out, but there isn't really much more than you can do apart from suggested above.

Few of the mk3 owners have used the rear guard thing with success.

You could try protective plastic film like 3M, but it can look untidy.
