Fabia VRS RARB

Featured Replies

Is it easy and quick to fit?

I've looked quickly and £156 on demon tweets and £141 on awesome GTI, except they both look completely different in structure and shape?

Can people send me a few links to the best one to get?

Thanks

Adam

They're very easy to fit and make a big difference to the handling.

They all do exactly the same job job stevo, there is no 'best'.

Some are thicker than others, slightly different designs etc.

Doesn't make any difference, they all work exactly the same way and do the same thing, some are too stiff and best suited to track work since they raise the spring rate above the ability of the shock absorber to damp the suspension. Any RARB is better than no RARB.

I've fitted the ultra racing one, it sits the lowest so more likely to catch things if that's an issue. It has no adjustment and no bushes to wear, just fit and forget.

I removed a whiteline one to fit the ultra racing one, it's more of a chew to fit having no to support the car/axel as it uses the shocker bolts to attach to the car (you get longer ones in the kit) then uses two U-clamps to hold the bushes against the axel. Whiteline is adjustable but more flimsy than the ultra racing...

I know a guy selling two whiteline ones for around £100 posted (each) he's on the forum but hasn't advertised.

Flimsy whimsy, it's not the bloody Forth bridge but it still cocks a leg on a dry road on the middle setting and I've had it fitted more than three years now, what more do you want?

Fitted a whiteline one in about an hour which was my first attempt at fitting anything like that.

Jack stands on sills, trolley jack under shock and remove bolt

Fit new bolts/washers/nuts and droplinks then remove jack from under shock.

Bolt bar to drop link (I would say start on mid setting to start with until you get used to it)

Grease bushes and fit over bar, swing the bar up under the axle

Then put bracket on and then u-bolt over axle and tighten.

Lower to the ground an re-tighten.

Drive for around 100 miles and check everything is still nice and tight.

Ok guys I drive hard round corners of I'm feeling like having a bit of fun but not to level of a 'track'

Standard height currently, dropping it 35/30mm with the AP shocks and springs in a few months.

Which RARB do you recommend? If possible link me to it please.

I want one with the fitting kit if possible.

As Sepul said:

Any RARB is better than non, just buy whichever one you like the sound of or the colour of. Ultra racing, white line or jabbasport.

Looks like you want random people on the forum to make a decision for you again - take the advice on board then make a choice. I have the Whiteline as many others do - i went from high amount of understeer to high amount of oversteer with it on the middle setting - really does make a massive difference and as said before, very easy to fit. I paid £70 for a used one that came up for sale on here................

Pretty much, these random people know more than me which is why I ask them and take their advice.

Probably just got for a whiteline one then, seem to be fairly common.

Have a look on classifieds on here each day and maybe try gumtree etc as they often pop up circa £70-90.

Whiteline is likely to tick a lot of boxes. I have the jabba. It does a great job but I have been caught out on  a couple of occasions. You need to be sure that your better tyres are on the back, especially in the wet.

Just get whichever you can find cheapest.

I run my whiteline on the hardest setting and don't get a sniff of oversteer.

I do run 4 matching premium tyres though, and KW coilovers.

Are people getting oversteer with a RARB and standard suspension,or is it down to mismatched budget tyres?

I have the jabba and I don't get any oversteer on the road.

I did at snetterton when it chucked it down.

Anyone will get oversteer with crap dampers and cheap tyres, not much point in a handling mod if the rest of the setup is pants. The car will handle worse and let go with little or no warning.

You need to be sure that your better tyres are on the back, especially in the wet.

Alternatively you could fit decent, same tread, matching tyres front and back. :bandit: hehehe

I had a whiteline on my old Fabia, only saw oversteer once on a wet roundabout. Fitted to new Fabia and h&r springs and dampers, not had any... Yet.

One on the left looks like my Whiteline RARB.

I've had it fitted for 5 years on the stiffest setting and never had oversteer on the road, standard suspension apart from uprated consul bushes.

One of the best things you can do to the VRS (in my opinion).

Why are these two different construction?

Both are whiteline RARB's, left one is on backorder until Feb 16, right one is a buit cheaper from Demon Tweeks.

Because the one on the right is for the FRONT, I have the one on the left because it's a RARB you need, not a FARB!

I use to run the jabbasport anti roll bar. Never had oversteer. Much better turn in and overall balance a lot more neutral.
